Ann's Birthday.

This card was made for Nan's friend from Bingo who was turning 90 and still going to the Bingo so it was the obvious theme. I couldn't find a Bingo card that went up to 90 though... Sure it goes that high... I know 88 is "2 fat ladies" but after that I'm struggling for the calls!!

The bingo card is from Simple stories 24/7 and I matched it with paper from Tilda Flowergarden range. I used accents of Gold with the ribbon and matting. The greeting is made up from Peel offs - also in Gold. I added Prima flowers and some co-ordinating resin flowers, along with a few sparkly gems.

The Image is from Stamping Bella and I matched the colours on the papers with the image. The Promarkers used are -
Skin - Coral, Soft Peach, Blush & Antique White (Flex)
Hair - Warm Grey 1, 3 & 4
Wine Bottle and glass - Burgundy, Baby Pink & Soft Aqua.
Dress - Pastel Green & Soft Aqua with Baby Pink, Carmine & Ruby.

I love the colours and papers - its very shabby chic!  Hope you like it.

And can I just say - Thank you to all the lovely new followers. I'm so chuffed to have you follow my Monkey mutterings!

Some Odd Girl - Colour swatch Journal

I posted a little bit ago about starting my colour journal along with Some Odd Girl posting Colour swatches. The challenge was then set to take another person's colour combo and use it. I picked one from Kim Rippere, that I was drawn to as it was so bright and vibrant but not one I would have thought of myself....

I used Promarkers Sea Green, Turquoise, Emerald, Bright Green and Pale Citrus to colour the dress of Tropical Mae from Some Odd Girl. I love how it turned out - So bright. I hyped up the tropical feel with the Hibiscus flower coloured in with Sunflower, Mandarin and Hot Pink.

I did think about colouring the whole thing in but then I would have wanted to use the image on a card rather than in my Colour Journal so I left the image unfinished.
I can't wait to find out what colour is next on the little journey!

The Dad's Big Birthdays.

The year of the big birthdays continue... This post its my Dad's 70th and the future Father In Laws 60th. Being the milestones that they are I decided they needed to be bigger than usual so I went for 8 x 8 square cards. The bigger card demanded a bigger image.

I loved colouring this image with my promarkers.  It from Dr Digi's House of Stamps - a digital stamp online shop.
www.doctor-digi.com

The background papers are My Minds Eye - little Robots collection of 12x12.
I used a templates for the large number and drew round them on the co-ordinating striped paper from the same kit - before mounting them on green card and cutting out again. Happy Birthday is a Pebbles sticker and the letters are from Doodlebug.

The promarkers used are -
Skin - Spice, Coral, Soft Peach, Blush & Antique White (Flex)
Hair & Newspaper - Warm Grey 1, 3 & 5
Pants - Icicle, powder blue, blue pearl.
Dressing Gown - Poppy, Ruby, Crimson, Cardinal Red & Burgandy.
Slippers - Pale Citrus, Lime Zest, Lime Green, Pear Green & Marsh Green.

The next card I made for my Dad - who last year took up Crown Green bowling. So I bought this digital image from Digistamp Boutique.

I used the templates for the large number and drew round them on Doodlebug - red spot paper before mounting them on blue card and cutting out again. The Letters for DAD and the "th" are also from Doodlebug. The Background paper is from Pink Paisley and has a gloss effect on the circles. I also added some Glaze on the Bowls to give them some extra dimension. I used a die to cut the grass and for the "happy".
Promarkers used -
Hat - Poppy, Ruby & Cardinal
Top - True Blue, Royal Blue, Egyptian blue (flex ) & Indigo Blue.
Grass - Lime Zest & Pale Citrus.

Mother's Day.

Mother's Day always demands some special cards - and I think each one should be unique. So here is this years selection ...

I made this one using Stamping Bella with Echo Park "Here & Now" paper. I edged the paper with peel offs (Retro - not used Peel offs for Donkeys years.) Whilst on the peel off roll... I used Peel off letters also, along with some sparkly Black letter stickers from Hobbycraft. I also added some black gem swirls from Hobbycraft too. I used a little glaze on the drinks cup and some stickles for the shopping bags which I paper pieced together to get different textures and colours. I added a little ribbon to finish it off and kept it fairly simple.

This card uses a brand New Tiddly Inks image - called Wynn - Have a Heart, coloured as always with Promarkers. The paper is from collection of "Valentine" from Recollection. I used a coordinating page and die cut a doillie to keep the theme of paper cuts going. I glazed and added some glitter to the little hearts. The greeting is from Craftworks card which I colour matched to the background. I added some glittery Martha Stewart flowers and a few flat backed pearls to give some extra sparkle.
The Promarkers I used are  -
Hair - Spice (Very darkest shadow), Pineapple Crush, Buttercup, Vanilla,
Skin -Spice, Coral, Soft Peach, Blush, Antique White.
Dress - Carmine, Magenta & Baby Pink.

I made this card for My Mum & kept it simple. The stamp is from Stamping Bella.
I paper pieced the dress, apron & Washing basket from a 6x6 pad from Echo Park "Here & Now"collection. I added some shadowing with Promarkers.  I used the same paper to mat the image and added just a few gems.
The Promarkers I used are  -
Hair - Cocoa, Henna and Cinnamon.
Skin -Spice, Coral, Soft Peach, Blush, Antique White.
Ironing board - Icicle blue & Powder Blue.
I also used Buttercup, Vanilla and Ivory to create the background haze.

This one was made for the future Mother in Law with the brief from the other half being bright, flowers and embellishments -Think I covered all these! The image is from Tiddly Inks & is coloured with Promarkers -
Skin - Coral, Soft Peach, Blush, Antique White.
Hair - Warm grey 1, 3 & 5.
Her shoes & the leaves are Mint & soft green and her dress is wild Orchid and Lavender.
The flowers are Azure, Wild Orchid, Lavender, Blue Pearl and the big yellow one is Sunflower, Canary, Lemon
The papers are from a 6X6 pad I've had for a while from S.E.I called Sunny Day and I used 3 different patterns , which I mounted on black to make it pop.
I added a selection of flowers - the big yellow is from Prima, the smaller paper flowers are from Petaloo and I added a couple of co-ordinating resin flowers and gems.

By the way I don't have 4 Mums! Just the one...Hope you like them all and that the Mums they were made for loved them too.

I would like to enter these cards into the following challenges -

Promarkers Colour Journal & Colouring class.

I've recently signed up for an colouring class with Kit and Clowder. I've only managed the first two classes so far but they have made me look at skin tone combos for Promarkers. I've found it really hard to find tutorials and combos for Promarkers on line as most are geared towards Copics or Spectrum Noir. I love my Promarkers (Soon to have the full set of both Promarkers and Flexmarkers - Whoop Whoop!) but the class teaches techniques which you can use with any medium.

At the same time -  Some Odd Girl started a Colour Journal project - Just the motivation I needed to record all my colour combos and practice colouring. It was Fate!! And I've loved decorating my Journal with this ace Stamping Bella image and Doodlebug letters.  I punched the edge tabs and then cut them in half and coloured them with Co-ordinated Promarkers. I used them to separate every two pages for each colour.

The lovely Kristy posted a Copic colour swatch YG03 which I matched a close as I could to my Promarkers as Lime Zest. Here's the page I made so far... The image is "Cockatoo" a digi stamp from Some Odd Girl.

So I'm going to share my combos with all you other Promarker users out there. As Some Odd Girl add the next colour so will I. And as I practice I will add more images to each page. My next class is Hair tones so that will be another page.

Hope you find them useful - I'll keep adding my promarker colour combos... Ive also created a new folder on my Pinterest board. Please feel free to share but please link back to my Blog as I'd love more followers.

Thanks All, (:(|)X
