SOG Birthday challenges.

Hello, Found some time this week to create these new cards. I have entered the first three into the 3rd Birthday celebration challenge.

This one was entered into the FAIRY challenge. I've used MME papers with loads of flowers and die cut thin leaves. There is a couple of resin flowers and a a button in there also. I then added the obligatory gem swirls and a resin owl! To break up the white I used my promarker to make some dots as a background. I'm really pleased with how she turned out.

This was for the Shopping list challenge. I picked three things from the list which was Ribbon, Bling and 2 x patterned papers. I used some lovely new Crate paper papers with more gem bling, a button and twine.

This card I found the hardest - the challenge was grey with a pop of colour. So I decided to use Blue but I just wanted to add more and more of it! I enjoyed colouring in monochrome and think it looks quite effective. The paper is Authentique and I used warm greys from promarkers to colour Tropical Mae. The greeting says, "wishing you a beautiful day." and is from October Afternoon.

This card I made as I was on a roll with the layout. I can't remember what paper this is - had it for a while but its lovely - ooo remembered its actually K&co. I added some pale blue seem biding ribbon, a paper doily, gems and some paper flowers. I left the tag blank so I can add a custom greeting.

Don't forget if you see a card you love - they are all available to purchase or can be custom made for whatever special occasion you want... I love a challenge! Speak soon, (:(|)x

Quick Hello (:(|)x

Hello - Just a quick post... still keeping that resolution to show you a card I made today. As is so often the case I used 2 SOG images that I joined together in Photoshop. Some Odd girl have created a great new forum full of advice, chat and inspiration. www.someoddgirl.ning.com Its also the 3rd birthday this week and will be loads of comps and giveaways.... Should definately pay a visit!

The card image was coloured with promarkers and I used Doodlebug cloud paper and MME green dot paper. The lettering is Doodlebug and tags made with Washi tape. I added the obligatory ribbon from http://www.ribbongirl.co.uk and loads of gems for bubble effect.
Hope you like the card. (:(|)x

Experimenting at the hut

I have seen somewhere recently on my blog / web trawls the idea of Promarkers being used to colour fabric as they are a permanent ink. So I thought I would but a canvas bag and try it.

I have used a Some Odd Girl image and coloured her in as I would on paper once the outline was transferred onto the Fabric. The only thing I would do different is to cut around the image, as close to the line as possible, before transferring it next time as you can see the transfer paper around the image.

So what do you think? It could be done with all sorts of images on all kinds of things... Can't wait to try it again but this one is my guinea pig and will be being put through the washing machine to see how it holds on to the colour. Will keep you posted!

And see ... I'm sticking to my New Years Resolution - using my blog to better effect! (:(|)x

Happy New Year Monkey Mates (:(|)x

It's 2013! I suspect it won't be much different to 2012 but only time will tell what this new year has in store for me and the Monkeys. I've really enjoyed doing my cards lately and have started to enter them into challenges so thought I would show you what I have been upto.

So here is the Some Odd Girl challenge - This is the sketch that the card has to be based on and it must use an image from http://www.someoddgirlblog.com/2013/01/january-challenge/. (If you haven't visited yet.... go now! The images are brilliant! Tell the Girls I sent you...)

And here are the cards I made based on this sketch - need to decide which one to enter now...

This is a Some Odd Girl image, coloured with Promarkers and my new flex markers that I got for Christmas. It is embellished with lace, diamante swirls and resin flowers (Which are my favourite things at the mo!) These lovelies are from ... The papers are from Echo Park and I also used a Spellbinders die cut to make the frame.

This is another SOG image which I cut the dress slightly to make her look like she was holding the wooden birdcage which I've covered in Stickles. The Background paper is Carta Bella, embellished with more pink resin flowers and gems.

This final card is also a SOG image and I made it for a friends birthday. I added some twine to look like the guitar wire. The background I cut for several different papers from My Minds Eye and then sewed them together. Shocker - no resin flowers or gems!! Just mirri card stars (Got to get a bit of bling in somewhere!! Hard to do whilst trying to keep a card Manly...

So which do you think I should enter into the challenge....
