Bertie Bunny

Morning - Im still sticking with the Easter theme and animals! Today is week two for the I love Promarkers challenge where there are two sponsors Live Long Crafts and Digital Delights. The theme is Swirls and/or Pearls  and I have used an image called  Bertie Bunny

I covered the background card with Two tone orange bazzill card and then mounted the carrot patterned paper from Echo Park - Hoppy Easter collection on to green. I used my Friskars cutter to cut a circle which I glued to the bottom right corner and then cut to size. I coloured Bertie Bunny with promarkers and cut around the image and then nestled his amongst the grass die cut from Marianne Design. I used a greeting from Pebbles which I also mounted and then added some pearls to swirl around the image. Finally I used a little glaze in his nose to make it shine.

I used these promarkers & Flexmarkers -
Bertie - Warm Greys
Feet & ears - Blossom & Rose Pink
Flower - Summer Sun & Gold, Cloud blue shading.
Carrot - Gold, Bright Orange & Halloween
Leaves - Lime Zest & Grass.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges -

Hope you've all had a lovely Easter.

Go for it Duck.

Happy Easter Sunday. The card I've made for today is using Scaredy Duck. I thought I would try and combine the current Animal challenge with something kind of Eastery (Is that a word??) So I went for a kind of chick! I got a little carried away with all the sequins & Glitter in the shaker card but I think he deserves a little excess for his bravery.

I made the shaker section using my new Lawn Fawn Large stitched circles dies which I love!  I cut the frame from Doodlebug paper and the background from Echo Park Splash collections. I used Doodlebug glitter and sequins to fill the disc which I sealed with 3d foam around the acetate frame.
I covered a round card base with another Echo park pattern from the collection and glued the shaker card on top. Once I had coloured Scardey Duck in using my promarkers I cut closely around him and stuck him to the top with 3D foam. I added glaze to his beak and feet along with the rubber ring which I also scattered a little cosmic shimmer glitter on to try and make it appear wet.
Finally I used black glitter letter from Hobbycraft to spell out the greeting.

I used these Promarkers and Flexmarkers to colour the image -
Duck - Soft Lime, Lemon, Yellow & a touch of Gold.
Beak & Feet - Gold & Bright Orange.
Rubber ring - Powder Blue & Sky Blue, Pastel Green & Ocean Teal.

If you click on the picture above you can see the latest challenge at Dr Digi which is Animals and win yourself some free digis! And there are so many cool ones to choose from...  So don't forget to get your entries in.

All for now - Hope you've not eaten too many Easter eggs and are having a lovely Bank Holiday weekend.

Funny Easter Bunny

Hello - Its time for a new challenge over at The Paper Shelter and the theme is Easter Time. I have used an image called Funny Easter Bunny. I tried to go along with a pastel theme... well this is as pastel as I get!! You know I'm a bright girl through and through!
This is the first card I've made with these new fancy edge card bases that I got from Create & Craft. I think it matches really well with the egg shaped corners and all the spots.

I coloured the image using my promarkers & Flexmarkers and then used a Friskars cutter to cut part way around the image to allow his big feet and ears to stick out. The papers I've used are both from Simple Stores Hello Baby collection which I cover the base in and then cut a panel from. I used a friskars edge punch on white card to attach to the edges of the panel. I stuck this panel on top of some ribbon from my stash that I made into a bow - so it is similar to the one the Bunny is wearing. The stamped greeting is a freebie I got from a magazine years ago. Finally I added some co-ordinating enamel dots from My Minds Eye.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour Funny Bunny -
Bunny - Ice Grey 1 & 3
Ears - Blossom & Rose pink
Bow tie - Aquamarine, Frosted Jade & Turquoise.
Egg - Apple green & Meadow green, Lemon & Yello, Cloud blue & Blender.
Cloud blue for edging and shading on white areas.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges -
The Crafters cafe - Easter.
Fan-tastic Tuesday- ATG
Inky Chicks - Happy Easter.

Now go get your entries done and submitted for your chance to win the fabulous prize  - you don't have to use a Paper Shelter image but you can win some !!

It's Retro Kids!

Morning All - something a bit different from my usual style as I've given my pens a day off and used paper piecing for a change. Now here's a question for you- What comes first... the paper or the image? Bit like the chicken or the egg?? I have to admit I bought this paper and didn't know what I would use it for but then I saw this perfect Dr Digi image called C60 and a design plan was hatched!

I did used the Warm Grey 5 and Black Promarkers just to give a little depth to the image and also a silver pen to colour the screws. The paper is from Basic Grey called B-side. I used a strip of matt black card to edge this to represent the tape inside the cassette. I printed the image put three times - once onto the patterned pink paper which is from Simple Stories snap basics collection, the other two were onto different shades of grey Bazzill. I cut the middle away and glued some acetate behind to create a window and used a little more of the matt black card to make it look like the wound up tape.
All the letter stickers are from Doodlebug Teeny type in Tangerine and finally I added some Doodlebug Sprinkles in co-ordinating colours as they reminded me of the buttons that used to be on my Ghettoblaster!! (Remember them Kids??)

And don't forget the Birthday card challenge is still going on the Dr Digi Facebook page... We would love to see your creations!

For your Wedding Day

Hello - Todays card is to show you one of the new digital image designs from All dressed up.
This image is called For your Wedding Day and you can buy the image by clicking on the link.
There are four new images in total - all on the wedding theme which is very apt for me and I have just finished making my Wedding invitations. Have a look at the All Dressed up Blog to see lots of inspiration.

For this card I coloured the image using promarkers and then die cut the image using a Spellbinders Nestibilities. I used the next size up to cut a mat from Gold mirri and mounted the image on it.
I used a similar shape base card and cut away the front half. I covered the remaining half with Crate paper called Kiss Kiss and edged this with gold foiled rose washi tape from Hobbycraft. The inside I covered with gold foiled spotty paper from My Minds Eye On trend 2. (I love this collection!)
Finally I used a white Wink of Stella brush pen over the shoes to make the shimmer gently but you can only really see this on the next photo!

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour the image -
Outer shoe & leaves -  Honeydew & Mint Green
Inner Shoe - March Hare.
Bow & Rose - Light Fawn, Soft peach, Peach & Rose Peach.

Jolly Chap with Kenny K

Morning - Time for another new Challenge over at I love Promarkers.
The challenge for this week is sponsored by Kenny K and the theme is "Men at Work"
I have used a image from Kenny K called Jolly Chap and I die cut around him using a new set of dies I got from My Favourite Things Die-Namics called Inside out stitched square dies.

I went with a kraft card background as it seemed more "manly" and made the black and white pop a bit more. The paper with printing on is from Simple Stories - DIY boutique, whilst the diagonal patterned papers are from My Minds Eye Black and Grey Necessities.
I die cut the skyscape from black and gold and slightly offset them to make them look like the light was glowing. I also die cut the Happy from gold card and created a little flag with the gold and patterned paper - which I then put a Gold Freckled Fawn heart on. The black & gold bow was from a pad of bows by Craftwork Cards called Noir De Luxe.

I used these promarkers & flexmarkers -
Skin -  Antique White, Blush, Soft peach, Coral & Spice.
Suit & Hat - Ice Greys
Briefcase - Warm Greys.
Powder blue to shade the white clothing.
I also added a little gold pen.

Best In Show.

Morning Everyone,
I thought this image called Dog Show from Dr Digi, would be very apt as all this week has been Crufts and today they pick the Best in Show. I'm not sure this bunch would win much as pedigrees mind! I spent yesterday looking after 4 family dogs whilst they went to Crufts - so we took them all for big long walk around the reservoir to tire them out. My Sister competes with her dogs in Flyball and one of there teams is in the final today - so finger crossed.

To make this card I folded a A5 card down to create the valley fold. I covered the background with the dog themed paper from Imaginisce. It is double sided so I used the bone pattern side on the step and attached the image to sit above it. I added a strip of red ribbon with a buckle to look like a collar and used some glaze to make the dogs noses shine.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour the image -
Podium - Honeydew.
3rd place - Ice Grey 1, 3 & 5, Antique Pink ears, Poppy & Ruby collar, Tan claws & Powder blue for shading & eyes.
1st Place - Warm Greys & Antique Pink with Sky Blue collar.
2nd Place -  Tan, Cinnamon & Antique Pink

Luxurious Fairy from The Paper Shelter.

Morning - There is a new challenge starting today over at The Paper Shelter and the theme is a real favourite that you all love... Fairies! And there are some fabulous fairy images to pick from like this one I've used called Exotic Enchantment.

I was  asked to make this card for a friend at work to give his wife for there Wedding anniversary - which when we looked was celebrated with wood - hence the little wooden hearts from Studio Calico that I have used. I also die cut the letters from Balsa Wood - This took a few goes through my sizzix with letters from Die-namics to cut right though but it worked pretty well.

The background paper is from My Minds Eye On Trend 2 collection and is a lovely navy colour with gold foil. I used a corner rounder punch on the base layer. I used the greeting from the same collections 6x6 pad and mounted this on pink satin to make it stand out. I also used this to make the little flag in the top corner.

I used some Diamond stickles on the wings of the fairy and a little Gold pen on the hair clip. Finally I added a few gems and dots of stickles to look like she was sprinkling fairy dust.
I used these Promarkers and Flexmarkers to colour the image -
Skin - Antique White, Blush, Soft Peach, Coral & Spice.
Hair - Buttercup, Pineapple Crush, Sleigh Bells & Raw Sienna.
Dress & Bow - Pink Mittens, Pink Carnation, Cerise, Magenta & Hot Pink.
Wings  - Honeydew.

I added another stripe of red mirri and attached to this grey letters from Doodlebug. I glued a Wooden guitar embellishment to the side and added a few Die cut music notes that are also from My Favourite Things.  I used silver pen to give the metal parts of the image a shine.

All Dressed up - Love my pets.

Hello - Today is the start of a new Challenger at All Dressed Up and the theme is always Anything Goes but the creation must use an All dressed up image. You can even get freebies to play along here.
You could win your personal choice of 3 All Dressed Up digi images; be selected as one of the Top 3 or be chosen as guest Designer for our next Challenge.

I have used an image called Love my pets which you can get from the Esty shop by just clicking on the name. I am sometimes conscientious that all my cards are very bright so I purposefully tried to keep this quite muted and pastel... well it is for me!!

To make this card I cut a panel from blue (Or is it lilac??) and mounted on this the pastel pink patterned paper from My Minds Eye The Sweetest Thing collection called Honey. I printed the image and used my Friskar cutter to cut the oval panel - along with two other nested layers in pink and grey bazzill. I cut the die cut fence from a Magnolia die and layered the image on it and also placed a die cut tree behind the fence but over the image panel.
I glued a stripe of co-ordinating ribbon on to the bottom and then found the gorgeous iridescent gems from Hobbycraft that are just the right colour. Finally I added a paper daisy with another yellow flower attached in the middle to give it some more dimension.

I used these promarkers & flexmarkers to colour the image -
Skin - Antique White, Blush, Soft Peach, Coral & Spice.
Hair - Cinnamon, Cocoa, Burnt Sienna & Henna
Skirt - Pale Blossom, Baby Pink & Rose Pink
Jacket -  Powder blue & Capri Blue
Bunny - Ice Grey 1, 2 & 5
Grass - Lime Zest, Leaf Green & Pear Green
Sky - Powder blue.

Lucy's 5th Birthday.

Morning - My creation for today is for I love Promarkers. Its week two of the Challenge and the theme is Use a number. This could be an age, a date or a house number. There are two sponsors this week - Col Art (Letraset) and Opal Crafts. The Winner is picked at random and there is also a top three chosen by the Design Team.

I made this card for my Goddaughter Lucy's 5th Birthday. I have used a rubber stamp image from Stamping Bella called Tiny Townies Tiny Dancers and coloured the girls in the same Ballet colours that they have.

I mounted a panel of Me & My Big Ideas flower paper onto Lilac bazzill card. I used a spellbinders die to cut the doily shape from Papermania Glittered vellum and placed this behind a stripe of shimmer bazzill cream card, which I wrapped some co-ordinating blue ribbon from American Crafts around it.

I spelt out LUCY using American Crafts thickers in silver and also used number 5 for her fifth Birthday. The greeting is a clear sticker from Kaisercraft and I added some pink gems, along with stickles to make the dresses sparkle.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers -
Skin - Antique white, Blush, Soft Peach, Coral & Spice.
Girl 1 Hair - Buttercup, Cananry, Pineapple crush & Sleigh bells
Girl 2 Hair - Caramel, Cocoa & Walnut.
Clothing - April showers, Powder Blue & Cobalt Blue.
