Me, Dr Digi & Making Cards Magazine.

Well.... who has seen it?? My first time in a printed magazine Making Cards! I was so excited to see the projects in print that I did for Dr Digi's House of Stamps.  (It's been a hard kept secret!) But here it is.... And to top it off - one of my cards is on the front cover!! There is also a great post over on the Dr Digi Facebook page....

I'm not going to go into detail of the recipes as I feel like this is covered by the magazine but I do want to show these fabulous images that I got to play with in a bit closer detail! Plus there is a 50% Discount code in the magazine for these images.

So here is Angling Andy -}

And the fabulous Aubery Bumblethope

And last but definitely not least - the wonderful Weekend Walter

I hope you enjoy seeing these pics and will use them as inspiration to get these images and create your own cards which we would love to see over at Dr Digi's facebook page.

We also have  a competition running at the Facebook page... you just need to like the page  and share the pinned post to be in with a chance to win some great digis of your choice!

Thanks for reading my self-indulgent post!!!

Anglin Andy

Morning...
I thought I'd try something a bit different this week - What do you think of Anglin' Andy??

So many Dr Digi images are perfect for making stand up character cards as they have such clean lines. I made this card by simply printing the image 4 times... stay with me... One was for the base card which I printed onto the right hand side of a A4 Sheet - I scored down the edge of the image, folded and then cut around Andy.
The second I printed onto the textured card which I then cut around to be his waders (Is that the right term??) The third I printed onto the shimmer card and cut out the be the Fish.
The fourth I coloured with my pens and this is base for all the paper pieces to be stuck onto. Finally this layer was then stuck to the base card so the folder edge and all the reverse of the colouring can't be seen. (If I had though ahead I should have photographed the various stages... Promise I will next time I do this style!)

I had to draw over the lines on the textured card with a permanent marker as they faded a little and I also used promarkers to add some shading. I used a silver pen on the fish hooks and Glaze to make his glasses shine. Finally I used a black gem from Papermania on the Fish' eye.

I used these Promarkers and Flexmarkers -
Skin - Antique white, Blush, Soft Peach, Coral & Spice.
T-shirt - Red Sweater, Cardinal red & Burgundy
Hat - Khaki, Herb green, Pesto & Olive Green.
Bag - Petrol blue, Navy blue & Black.
Shading on Waders - Warm Greys

It wasn't a quick card but I think the effect is worth it. I would like to enter this card into the following challenges -

Hope you have a lovely day and fingers crossed it stops raining!
