The Kat's Whiskers.

Our friends Katherine and Kieran are just building a new business -  a cattery in Manchester called The Kat's Whiskers. This place will be utter luxury for a cat - with glitter balls and running water fountains! So I made them a Good Luck card using a Tiddly Inks image.

The card uses the American Crafts Thickers to spell out "Good Luck". The images are all Tiddly Ink and coloured with Promarkers, The greeting and additional cat are also Tiddly Inks and were die cut with a star. I added a wooden moustache and some red star gems.

Here is a link to the Cattery - Opening in April ...

The logo is fab and hopefully makes some sense of the Moustache on the card!.

All for now folks. Be back soon (:(|)x

40 is the new 50 - so 40 is the new 30??

This time it is Louise who is turning 40!
I really liked colouring this Stamping Bella image. Its the first time Ive coloured it with Promarkers even though I've had it for a while. Blue is not a usual colour for me to use but there was a challenge on the Stamping Bella blog with blues and golds which I thought was a lovely combination.

So I used this challenge as inspiration for my card. I love the copper foiled paper from Pink Paisley and with the image - I didn't think it needed much more.

I added some blue gems and ribbon along with a little glitter on the dress but I kept it pretty simple really. The greeting is from Pebbles. I didn't add a "40th" to it as I thought the card looked quite special as it was... and do we Girls want to add attention to our age?! Although if 40 is the new 50, then really Louise is only turning 30!!

Marks 40th birthday Card

Seems this year that a lot of friends turn 40 yrs (Not me by the way - I have a couple of years yet?!)This means I have to make extra special cards... and obviously no two can be the same! Each one has to be unique and personal.
Below is one of the first...

Mark turned 40 and he is wishing for a lovely new shiny guitar (At £2000 I think he will have to keep wishing for a while yet?!) So I made him one! I'm sure it a suitable alternative!!

I found a very plain shaped template of a general Guitar shape on the internet - I then adapted it and added all the additional shapes and buttons, along with the strings. I made the shapes from metallic red, a brushed metallic silver and a gloss black.I then stuck it all to a A5 card blank and cut around the outer edge so the whole card was Guitar shaped. I know the perspective is a bit out - Its a bit of a fat Guitar but that's artistic license! Honest!
All for now. Liz (:(|)x

Colour Mapping.

Yippee - No Christmas images! Although there were so many ideas and designs that I didn't get around to - I'm kind of want to keep making them! So here is one of the first new cards I have to show you....

I made this card for a friends new baby. The image is a Stamp from Janes Doodles and the papers and letter stickers are from Doodlebug.I thought a round card would work well with trying to make the image float.
I've decided to start listing the Promarkers I used on the image (For my future benefit really!!) and figured I'm already adding a picture of them on here so it would make sense to record them here. I think its officially called Colour Mapping. I hope you don't mind...

Promarkers Colours -
Elephant - Arctic Blue, Powder Blue.
Hippo - Purple Velvet, Orchid, Heather
Lion mane - Mandarin, Pumpkin
Lion - Gold, Sunflower
Giraffe - Magenta, Carmine
Monkey - Nutmeg, Tan
Roof - Moss, Pear Green, Apple.
Boat - Rosewood, Saddle Brown, Nutmeg, Light Fawn.

The final Christmas Catch up!

The final catch up...then I'm ready to start a fresh... So lets get straight on!

These two cards are made from Digital images from Pink Petticoat. I kept them clean and simple with a simply die cut image layered on some glittered Velum. I added some gems and ribbon and kept it at that! I think they look really effective.

I wanted to focus on the singing and music elements of this Tiddly Inks image which I made for Nan - who loves her Bingo and almost every card I make her I try to get the bingo reference in!

This card uses Lawn Fawn stamped image and Paper smooches greeting. The paper is from Doodlebug. I used a Spellbinders snowflake with Glittery cardstock and some glitter gems.

I've had the October Afternoon background paper since last Christmas and wanted to make full use of the lovely images - so kept this pretty simple. The greeting just seemed to match this stamped image from The Greeting Farm that I coloured with Promarkers. I added some ribbon and gems as they are obligatory!!!

I love this Stamping Bella image in Traditional Christmas red and Green. I used the Doodlebug Holly Sprinkles and paper with a lovely grey ribbon. These Images really don't need loads to make them look ace.

I love this card... think its one of my favourites. Its a stamped image from Stamping Bella which I added a little colour to. I used my Brown Wink Of Stella pen to colour the wooden greeting as it was to pale. The Papers and stickers are from Websters Page which I think was my favourite collection from this Christmas. I added some pearly swirls and a big piece of bling (Which needed lots of Silicon to attach it!) It's not a traditional Christmas card but think it's really magical.

Part 2 - Christmas Catch up...

Here are some more Christmas creations for you so we can start a fresh in this New Year!

I loved making this shaker card so it was like a snow globe. The papers on both these cards are Doodlebug and image is from Whimsie Doodles - coloured with Promakers. Happy Christmas is a die from Paper smooches.

I've had the paper on these cards for ages ... It has a shimmer to it but I can't remember the make. Both the images are Whimsie Doodles. I added some twill ribbon and one of the charms I bought from eBay. And who doesn't love a pun?!

Not sure which background I like best... Possibly the Kraft?? The stamps are from Hobby Arts and the background paper is from the Keep Cozy collection from Echo park.  I paper pieced the hat, scarves and leg warmers and added lots of glitter and sticky glitter dots to look like snow falling. The glitter letters are from Hobbycraft.

It's 2015! How did that happen??

Where did 2014 go?? That just flew by. I did pretty well with posts but neglected it a little during December which always ends up being pretty manic! So I thought Id just take this chance to showcase some of the creations that have been displayed and lets be honest... have possibly been recycled by now!

I did several of these Underwear cards using different papers and colour schemes. I think they are really effective.

I used a spellbinders die to create this aperture and the papers, stickers and Gems are all Doodlebug.

I struggle with male cards so this image was fab and just lends itself to masculine colours and shapes. I think the Mistletoe die was Marianne Designs but don't hold me to that as I don't have the packaging. I saw a card similar to this on the Whimsie Doodle blog and thought it was just perfect for my other half so made my own take on it.

All of these images are from www.whimsiedoodles.com and coloured using Promarkers. I kept this one fairly simple and the papers are so lovely!
Will post some more over the next few days ready for a fresh start for 2015. Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and a Happy New Year. (:(|)x
