Reach for the stars...

Morning -
I got some zig clean colour pens for christmas and have been playing with creating backgrounds. I made this night sky to go with this image from Dr Digi called Saucer Head.
I decided to make it into a shaker card by die cutting a panel from black card using a Nestibilities die and covering the gap with accetate. I filled the shaker with far too many sequins and glitter from Doodlebug- when will I learn that less is more!! I also used some Cosmic shimmer olympic gold paint on the background to give it areas to look like stars.

I coloured the image and made sure I went around the image to so it blended with the background - I also coloured the clear space of the saucer and used some blender pen and white pen to make it look like glass. I think its quite effective!
I die cut the Happy Birthday from gold card using a paper smooches die and I added the other bits by hand using a gold and silver pen.

I used these promarkers & flexmarkers to colour the image -
Sky - Midnight blue,
Saucer - Red, Poppy, Ruby & Burgundy
Alien - Soft Lime, Lime Zest, Lime Green, Pear Green and Marsh Green
Powder blue eyes and Gold top.
The lights are Lemon, Summer Sun & Sleigh Bells.

Thats all from me for today - I would love to know what you think of my background and if you make your own backgrounds - What do you use ?

Thanks for stopping by,

Santa's family Selfie

Good morning
Today sees the start of a new challenge at I love Promarkers and this time we are being sponsored by The Paper Shelter and its an ANYTHING GOES theme.

I have used an image called Santa's Family Selfie.  I am going to try (see how long I keep it up for??!) and make a few Christmas cards all year around this year as I am always rushing and my nearest and dearest always seem to be the ones that end up losing out. I must owe my Husband several years of Birthday, Valentines and Anniversary cards!!

I cut some Doodlebug christmas papers down to make a panel and put some green glitter ribbon across to cover the join. I coloured the image and then cut a frame from black card and glued the image behind it. I added three little red gems to the bottom corner and also die cut the greeting from black card using a Lawn Fawn die.

I used these promarkers & flexmarkers to colour the image -
Skin - Usual
Warm grey hair
Poppy, Ruby & Cardinal Red.
Emerald, lush green & lime green
Cocoa & caramel

Looking forward to seeing your creations!

Tommy Gunn - keepin' it Gangsta!

Hello - its Sunday once again... don't these weekends come and go far too quickly!

Today's card for Dr Digi is using Tommy Gunn just because I have never used him before and thought he should be coloured.  I tried to think of a pun to go with him and searched the internet but although I found many that made me laugh - they weren't suitable for general consumption! So instead I went with a black and gold theme.

I covered a base card with Brick pattern paper from Docrafts Mr Smiths workshop collections. I die cut the skyline from Black and gold and glued them together slightly of line to look like a light glow. I have used a black and gold tag from Noir De Luxe collection from Craftworks Card and also a matching paper bow.
I have also used gold pen on the image and some glaze on his brogues!

I have used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour Tommy -
Skin - Antique White, Blush, Soft Peach, Coral & Spice
Hair - Chestnut, Henna & Saddle brown.
Suit - Black, Ice greys 1 to 5
Gun and violin case - Blue Grey 3 to 5
Tie & flower - Cerise, Tropical Orchid & Wild Orchid with Grass on the leaf.
Powder blue to shade the white areas.

Hope you like him and I'd love to know if you can think of any witty greetings for him!

TPS Blue Heart

Morning - today is the start of a new challenge at The Paper Shelter and if you enter you get a chance to win some fabulous images of your choice.

The theme for this week is Shades of Blue. I have used an image called Fancy Psychedelic Love.

I coloured the image using Zig Clean Color brush pens that I got for christmas - They took a little getting used to but I'm pleased with the overall result.
I used blues - 36, 31, 37, 30, 32 and 38 for the dark background. I also used Reds 20 & 24 and added details and dots with white pen and went over them with White Opal Liquid Pearls.

I cut the image down to a square and then mounted this onto three different shades of blue Bazzill card. Into the corners I places four blue gems and another two on to the bottom corner on the base card. I all the scalloped edges I used Ocean Blue Liquid pearls to create detail.
Finally I added some thin blue ribbon and tied it in a bow across the top of the card.

I hope you like my card, even though it's a little different from my usual.
Thanks for looking and I look forward to seeing your entries in the challenge.

Man Flu season

Morning all - there seems to be lots of bug and germs going around at the minute and so far (touch wood ) I have avoided getting any illness.
But I have picked up Man flu from Dr Digi (see what I did there??) and had great fun colouring him and paper piecing on him. I kept the image really big - filling almost half the a4 sheet and kept it as an A5 card.

This is how the image starts off - printed out twice - once onto the plain card to be coloured in with the Promarkers and printed the same size onto the patterned paper. I then cut out the areas of the duvet that I glued onto the coloured image. I did use some Warm Grey 1 & 3 to add some shading on to the patterned duvet also.
The background paper is from Mambi and I used a corner punch to take the edges off the bottom section. The duvet paper is from My Favourite things and the letters are from Doodlebug. Once the image was completed I cut around the entire thing and stuck it to my base card with 3d foam.

I used these promarkers and flex markers to colour him in -
Skin - Usual
Bed & Drawers -Caramel, Cinnamon, Henna & Walnut
Socks & Top - Red Poppy & Burgundy
Medicine and soup - Apple & Pine
Medicine and drink - Orange & Bright Orange
Warm greys 1 to 5 for shading.
I also used a little silver pen on the spoon and thermometer, along with some powder blue to add shading to the white areas.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges -
Brown Sugar - ATG (w)
YOur next stamp - layout
Crafting with attitude - ATG
Crafty Gals corner - Use Patterned paper

SO keep eating your greens and getting your 5 a day.
Stay Healthy!

Do what makes you happy ...

Morning -
I'm back today with my "Go-to" Dr Digi image - Weekend Walter. I love colouring him up with his big round tummy!
I have kept it simple and let the image and greeting speak for themselves - Be Happy and do what you love. I am a creature of habit and I love nothing more than an brew and lazing round in my PJ's!

I printed Walter out twice - once onto My Favourite things paper and cut the shape of his dressing gown out. Once I had coloured Walter in using promarkers - I glued the dressing gown pieces on.

I stuck Walter on with 3d foam and added a few co-ordinating enamel dots from Doodlebug and also an enamel heart to mirror the heart on his mug.

Hello from 2017!

Morning - I have scheduled this post in advance as I fully expect I will be feeling a little delicate this morning after a New Years Eve celebration in Abersoch with friends.
I can not get over how quickly the last year has gone - only seems like yesterday we were planning our wedding and doing our invites on New Years day 2016!

So this year my resolution is to take better care of myself... little things like moisturising regularly and using leave in conditioner!! Nothing major!! Although we have said we will do a dry January and I would really like to get back to running after a few months rest due to injury to my hip. I need to drink more water and eat more fruit and less chocolate (But there is soooo much of it from Christmas and you can't throw it away!!) So hopefully I will get a waist like our Petunia Butterthwaite in my card below but I ain't holding my breathe!!! Although I could give her ample hips a miss!!

This card was simple to make - I cut some stripes of patterned paper from My Favourite things pad called Fun and Frolicks and glued them to the edges. I used a fine black pen to doodle around the edge and add the dots. The greeting is from Pebbles and the 2017 is from Doodlebug.

I used these promarkers and Flexmarkers on the image -
Skin - Antique White, Blush, Soft peach, Coral & Spice.
Shoes, glasses and lips - Poppy & Cocktail pink.
Hair -  Cloud blue & Powder blue.
Costume or leotard? - Soft Lime, Lime Zest, Lime Twist & Pear Green.

I hope you like her and that 2017 brings you everything you wish for.
