Tommy Gunn - keepin' it Gangsta!

Hello - its Sunday once again... don't these weekends come and go far too quickly!

Today's card for Dr Digi is using Tommy Gunn just because I have never used him before and thought he should be coloured.  I tried to think of a pun to go with him and searched the internet but although I found many that made me laugh - they weren't suitable for general consumption! So instead I went with a black and gold theme.

I covered a base card with Brick pattern paper from Docrafts Mr Smiths workshop collections. I die cut the skyline from Black and gold and glued them together slightly of line to look like a light glow. I have used a black and gold tag from Noir De Luxe collection from Craftworks Card and also a matching paper bow.
I have also used gold pen on the image and some glaze on his brogues!

I have used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour Tommy -
Skin - Antique White, Blush, Soft Peach, Coral & Spice
Hair - Chestnut, Henna & Saddle brown.
Suit - Black, Ice greys 1 to 5
Gun and violin case - Blue Grey 3 to 5
Tie & flower - Cerise, Tropical Orchid & Wild Orchid with Grass on the leaf.
Powder blue to shade the white areas.

Hope you like him and I'd love to know if you can think of any witty greetings for him!

A New DT oppourtinty for me at The Paper Shelter

Morning - Some exciting news ... I am on a new Design team! Today is my first post for The Paper Shelter and the images are just lovely. I am thrilled and honored to be asked to join this talented bunch!
They have a challenge every week - I am on Design team A and we post our (hopefully?) inspirational cards every fortnight. So be lovely to see you joining in the challenges which have a different theme - Currently it is "Shades of Blue." #231
You don't need to use an image from The Paper Shelter to enter, but if you do you could win a whopping $30 gift certificate to spend! But even if you win using another brand - you get to pick 3 digi's - Aren't they fab prizes.

My card uses The Paper Shelter - Japanese Cute Doll. The paper is from Tilda Summer Blues collection and I mounted a panel onto Navy Bazzill card. I used Docrafts Navy ribbon across the middle before sticking the doll onto the card with 3D Foam. I used some pearl beading in the top left corner - arranged with three co-ordinating Blue flowers called Sweet Petites by Petaloo. I also added some little sticky back pearls and stamped the greeting using blue ink. The stamp is from a stamp set by Stamping Bella.

When I saw what the theme was I instantly though of the Blue chinese style pottery and this paper.   I wanted to keep it really monotone but struggled to not add hints of others colours, although I did manage not to use all the tones I use for skin to keep her quite pale.
I used these Promarkers & Flexmarkers -
Skin - Linen & Soft peach
Clothes - Frozen lake, Powder blue, Cloud blue, Cadet blue, Storm blue & Navy blue.
Wood - Cinnamon
Umbrella -  Tea rose & Salmon pink.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges -
Julia Spiri challenge - Monotone.
Graph'it markers - Winter blues.
Craft for the Craic- January Blues.
Digi Choosday - Cool Blues.
Double D challenge - Forget me not

I hope you like this card and those to come using these wonderful images from The Paper Shelter.

Little Skater

There is a new challenge over at I love Promarkers and the theme this week is Winter. - A really easy theme at this time of year - so I expect you all to join in!!
I loved colouring up this image from All dressed up called Little Skater.  Think I am slightly obsessed with these images at the minute!!

I actually forgot I had these lovely Filigree card bases from DoCrafts which I bought from Hobbycraft. I glued some Bo Bunny paper  from the Winter Joy collection behind the cut away card and used the colours in the paper to match up the promarkers. I die cut the image using my Friskars circle cutter and mounted it on to silver Mirri card. I used some star dust stickles to make her skirt and the ground shimmer a little, along with some gems stuck into the middle of the snowflakes. Finally I added a round Craftwork Cards Christmas greeting and a small Snowflake which was die cut from the silver mirri card using a die from My Favourite things

I used these Promarkers and flexmarkers to colour the Little Skater -
Ear Muffs & Skirt - Blue pearl & Bluebell
Scarf - Aquamarine & Oasis
Jumper - Pale Citrus, Lime Zest & Pear Green.
Hair - Satin, Terracotta, Burnt Sienna & Walnut.
Skin - Spice, Coral, Soft Peach, Blush & Antique white - Baby pink cheeks.
Ground - Powder Blue.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges -
Crazy 4 Challenges - Square.
Crafty Friends - One for the girls.
Send a smile 4 kids- ATG for kids.
Sweet stamping challenge - Sparkle & shine
Creative corner - Glitz & Glam
Colouring Crazy Challenges - Christmas
Winter Wonderland - add sparkle & shine

I hope you like her - I'm really pleased with how she has turned out and I love the colours as an alternative to traditional Red & green.
See you soon,
