Alistair the Alligator

Good .... Afternoon (Blimey where has this morning gone??!)

Todays Dr Digi card is using Alistair the Alligator.
I've never coloured him up before and wanted to practice doing texture on his skin (Do Alligators have skin??) Anyways - I coloured him and them once the shading was added - I used white pen and the colourless blender pen to try and make him look a little "bumpy". I think it turned out ok although it maybe doesn't show as well on the photo as it does in real life.

The background paper is from My Favourite things Plaid Patterned Merry & Bright. The little flag greeting I cut from white card and stamped with Paper Smooches greeting. The three little green pearls are from Doodlebug.

I used these promarkers to colour Alistair -
Leaf green, Charteuse, Grass, Lush Green & Forest Green
Summer Sun, Gold, Orange
His eyes are Cloud Blue
His claws were done with Cool Grey 1, 4 & 5

Right off to try and make this Sunday afternoon a little more productive than Sunday Morning (But relaxing and being lazy is what Suandays are for right?? )

On My Farm...

Howdie... (Farmers terminology right??) Todays post is to tell you all about the new Challenge at All Dressed Up Blog. It is always an Anything Goes theme as long as you use an All dressed up image. I have used an image called On my Farm
There was a little irony around the creation of this card as I had spent all day in the Garden putting horse manure on the flower beds so I did smell a bit like I'd been down on the Farm! Don't worry I did shower before I put my grubby hands on my precious paper stash!!

Speaking of paper - How ace is this perfectly plaid paper from Lawn Fawn!! They are all so bright and lush!! I teamed it with a strip of Country Fair green paper from My Favourite Things to mirror the grass. (These two companies can do no wrong in my opinion at the moment.)
I used a Lawn Fawn Die called "Inside out diagonal stitched Square" to cut the image out and mounted each layer onto Black bazzill.
I die cut a flower using Marianne Design and glued a pearl to the middle. The two smaller flowers are sequins from Doodlebug which I glued a gem to the middle of. I also die cut some clouds (I can't remember what brand they are ... Sorry. I normally write it on the back but haven't on these.) which I stuck to the card to overhang the image and then added a bright yellow button to represent the sun. Finally I used a little silver pen to highlight the wheels and grill on the tractor.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers -
Sky - Powder blue with lots of blender pen.
Wooden fence and carts - Caramel, Cocoa & Raw Sienna.
Pig - Blossom, Baby pink & Antique Pink.
Chicken - Poppy & Yellow.
Tractor - Yellow, Gold & Sleigh bells.
Grass - Leaf Green & Pressed leaf.
Tyre's - Black, Cool greys 3,4 & 5
Cow & Sheep's face - Ice Greys 3, 4 &5

I hope you like how My Farm turned out - it looks pretty idyllic but I reckon the manure is just out of shot!
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges -

Thanks for visiting and Im looking forward to seeing all your creations entered into the Challenge.

I covered the background card with Two tone orange bazzill card and then mounted the carrot patterned paper from Echo Park - Hoppy Easter collection on to green. I used my Friskars cutter to cut a circle which I glued to the bottom right corner and then cut to size. I coloured Bertie Bunny with promarkers and cut around the image and then nestled his amongst the grass die cut from Marianne Design. I used a greeting from Pebbles which I also mounted and then added some pearls to swirl around the image. Finally I used a little glaze in his nose to make it shine.

I used these promarkers & Flexmarkers -
Bertie - Warm Greys
Feet & ears - Blossom & Rose Pink
Flower - Summer Sun & Gold, Cloud blue shading.
Carrot - Gold, Bright Orange & Halloween

I have used an image called Flutterby from Stitchy Bear Digi images.

I covered the base with Bo Bunny paper called Persuasion My Sweet - I decided to use a round card base so it could rock and have some movement. I added some thin Ribbon from my stash and a greeting from Craftwork Cards. I coloured the bird with promarkers and added some pearls in a swirly pattern. I used Star Dust stickles on the bird to make it shine and shimmery.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour the Flutterby -

Hello All,
Now I love a bath (Too much info?)  I can sit in a bath for hours and just keep topping up the water to keep it warm. And like Our Deirdery I will often take a drink with me (Yes...sometimes it is a glass of wine!!Please don't judge me!) It's not a traditional Valentines card but... Bath Time Deirdery from Dr Digi certainly looks relaxed and I love this digi looking all feminine and pink.

The patterned papers are from Polka Dot party collection from Dear Lizzy American Crafts. I added some paper flowers from my stash, the beaded center flowers are from Petaloo Sweet Petite and the resin flowers from Martha Stewart. I used pearl dots in co-ordinating colours from my stash and added the greetings which I just got from Crate Paper Hello Love collection and mounted onto gold mirri. The image was die cut using my new set of Die-namics wonky rectangles and finally I used gold pen on the feet and taps of the bath along with Stardust stickles on the bath foam.

A New DT oppourtinty for me at The Paper Shelter

Morning - Some exciting news ... I am on a new Design team! Today is my first post for The Paper Shelter and the images are just lovely. I am thrilled and honored to be asked to join this talented bunch!
They have a challenge every week - I am on Design team A and we post our (hopefully?) inspirational cards every fortnight. So be lovely to see you joining in the challenges which have a different theme - Currently it is "Shades of Blue." #231
You don't need to use an image from The Paper Shelter to enter, but if you do you could win a whopping $30 gift certificate to spend! But even if you win using another brand - you get to pick 3 digi's - Aren't they fab prizes.

My card uses The Paper Shelter - Japanese Cute Doll. The paper is from Tilda Summer Blues collection and I mounted a panel onto Navy Bazzill card. I used Docrafts Navy ribbon across the middle before sticking the doll onto the card with 3D Foam. I used some pearl beading in the top left corner - arranged with three co-ordinating Blue flowers called Sweet Petites by Petaloo. I also added some little sticky back pearls and stamped the greeting using blue ink. The stamp is from a stamp set by Stamping Bella.

When I saw what the theme was I instantly though of the Blue chinese style pottery and this paper.   I wanted to keep it really monotone but struggled to not add hints of others colours, although I did manage not to use all the tones I use for skin to keep her quite pale.
I used these Promarkers & Flexmarkers -
Skin - Linen & Soft peach
Clothes - Frozen lake, Powder blue, Cloud blue, Cadet blue, Storm blue & Navy blue.
Wood - Cinnamon
Umbrella -  Tea rose & Salmon pink.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges -
Julia Spiri challenge - Monotone.
Graph'it markers - Winter blues.
Craft for the Craic- January Blues.
Digi Choosday - Cool Blues.
Double D challenge - Forget me not

I hope you like this card and those to come using these wonderful images from The Paper Shelter.

Mother's Day.

Mother's Day always demands some special cards - and I think each one should be unique. So here is this years selection ...

I made this one using Stamping Bella with Echo Park "Here & Now" paper. I edged the paper with peel offs (Retro - not used Peel offs for Donkeys years.) Whilst on the peel off roll... I used Peel off letters also, along with some sparkly Black letter stickers from Hobbycraft. I also added some black gem swirls from Hobbycraft too. I used a little glaze on the drinks cup and some stickles for the shopping bags which I paper pieced together to get different textures and colours. I added a little ribbon to finish it off and kept it fairly simple.

This card uses a brand New Tiddly Inks image - called Wynn - Have a Heart, coloured as always with Promarkers. The paper is from collection of "Valentine" from Recollection. I used a coordinating page and die cut a doillie to keep the theme of paper cuts going. I glazed and added some glitter to the little hearts. The greeting is from Craftworks card which I colour matched to the background. I added some glittery Martha Stewart flowers and a few flat backed pearls to give some extra sparkle.
The Promarkers I used are  -
Hair - Spice (Very darkest shadow), Pineapple Crush, Buttercup, Vanilla,
Skin -Spice, Coral, Soft Peach, Blush, Antique White.
Dress - Carmine, Magenta & Baby Pink.

I made this card for My Mum & kept it simple. The stamp is from Stamping Bella.
I paper pieced the dress, apron & Washing basket from a 6x6 pad from Echo Park "Here & Now"collection. I added some shadowing with Promarkers.  I used the same paper to mat the image and added just a few gems.
The Promarkers I used are  -
Hair - Cocoa, Henna and Cinnamon.
Skin -Spice, Coral, Soft Peach, Blush, Antique White.
Ironing board - Icicle blue & Powder Blue.
I also used Buttercup, Vanilla and Ivory to create the background haze.

This one was made for the future Mother in Law with the brief from the other half being bright, flowers and embellishments -Think I covered all these! The image is from Tiddly Inks & is coloured with Promarkers -
Skin - Coral, Soft Peach, Blush, Antique White.
Hair - Warm grey 1, 3 & 5.
Her shoes & the leaves are Mint & soft green and her dress is wild Orchid and Lavender.
The flowers are Azure, Wild Orchid, Lavender, Blue Pearl and the big yellow one is Sunflower, Canary, Lemon
The papers are from a 6X6 pad I've had for a while from S.E.I called Sunny Day and I used 3 different patterns , which I mounted on black to make it pop.
I added a selection of flowers - the big yellow is from Prima, the smaller paper flowers are from Petaloo and I added a couple of co-ordinating resin flowers and gems.

By the way I don't have 4 Mums! Just the one...Hope you like them all and that the Mums they were made for loved them too.

I would like to enter these cards into the following challenges -

Stamping Bella Challenge and colour mapping

I made today's card for the latest Stamping Bella layout challenge. I love the stamped images - this one has been out for a bit but is new to me and this is the first time I've coloured it with Promarkers.

This is the Sketch that the challenge was to make a card based on.

The background papers are from Websters Pages - Beautiful Chic. Its is a really stunning collection so expect to see much more of them!  I added glaze to the bath to make it look like the old traditional enamel type - I also added some to the Champagne Glaze glass. I also added loads of Stickles glitter to the bubbles and on her leg to make it look wet and shiny.

I added green Doodlebug pearls and some Pink gem stones. The greeting is from Jillibean - Soup Labels and I raided my ribbon stash to find some matching the bath colour to tie it altogether.

The Promarker colours I used are  -
Bath - Burgundy & Maroon.
Hair - Vanilla, Pineapple Crush & Sleigh Bells
Bubbles - Carmine & Baby Pink
Cushion - Meadow Green, Apple Cider & Holly

Quick post to show the last few makes here at the Hut. Work been very busy so its nice to have this hobby to relax - to switch off. Today we have both had a day off together, so we have been to make plans for our wedding.

I made this one with a Stamping Bella stamp, coloured with Promarkers. I cut the window with a nestability from Teresa Collins paper and added a selection of gems and die cut snowflakes. I enjoyed colouring this image and put on the obligatory stickles sparkle with a wooden greeting which seemed very adpt for the stamp.

This is also a Stamping bella stamp. (My current obsession!) I kept this one quite clean and simple as the image is pretty big. I added some ribbon and Pink pearls to co-ordinate with the promarkers. I love pink & green together but it was inspired by the lastest Stamping Bella blog post and challenge - which I will enter this in to. I am finding challenges really useful to giv me some inspiration but its hard to keep on top of all the different ones and the closing dates!
All for now - I have a few more cards nearly finished so will post again soon, (:(|)x

Design Team call entries.

I entered some cards into a Design Team submission call for Some Odd Girl! I kind of slipped onto the send button! I didn't get picked and doubt I was even a consideration as some of the creations posted on the facebook page and blog are amazing... but got to be in it to win it - right?! I have lost nothing by trying as I am making cards with the Some Odd Girl images all the time anyway.
The cards below are two that  I submitted... What do you think?

This one is a commission for a joint 30th birthday. They were having a Great Gatsby Themed party so I had lovely time researching on Pinterest. (Have you visited my Pinterest board?? I'm addicted to the whole site!)
I kept the colours to black, gold and pearls with an Art Deco feel. Once again the Die-namincs city scape was used. I used warm greys for the suit and natural colours like Satin and cappuccino to give Flapper Mae's dress a bit of shading. I then covered it entirely with glitter so it sparkles. I added some pearls for her necklace and headband and added a touch of soft green to the feather and eyes. Some swirly pearls and art deco corners finished the card.
I'm going to enter this into the monthly challenge on SOG blog which is all about the gold. I'm getting a bit gung-ho now with entering contests!

This was the second entry using SOG Coy Kaylee. Happy was cut with a Die-namics die and Simple stories paper. I love these colours.
