Some very exciting news.... (:(|)x
I have some very exciting news ... I have been asked to be part of a Design Team for Dr Digi's House of Stamps!!!
I only discovered the fab images they have fairly recently and after posting the card I made for the Father in law (to be's) 60th - I was contacted and asked to be a part of the team! I literally squealed with excitement.
The images are a lot of fun and full of Humour - fabulous for those always tricky Men's cards.
I had just purchased this image called "Strongo the Magnificent" for a friend who is a Personal trainer and turning 40. (Told you - Year of big birthdays!) This was just perfect and teamed with the Moustache paper... what more could he want! I raided my scraps box for other bits of paper and added to blue patterned Doodlebug papers to given some contrast.
The Die-namics Party Banner in red seemed to fit so well and I used it to add some letters saying Celebrate from Hobbycraft. The Star was cut using spellbinders and the numbers are also Doodlebug. The Happy Birthday sticker is from Pebbles - you will see these on a few of my cards as they are so useful.
The promarkers for colour mapping are -
Shoes & Belt - Blue Grey flexmarkers.
Suit - Burgundy, cardinal red, ruby, poppy, red and a little shading in Cool grey 3 & 1
Hair - Warn Greys.
I also used a little gold Sharpie on the belt buckle and buttons.
I really love how this turned out and can't wait to post more of these fab images as part of the Design team (DT) and am so chuffed to be asked! This card is up on the Dr Digi Blog so pop over and take a look at the other fab images and creations.
Happy Easter everyone... enjoy all the chocolate!

Another Big Birthday...
This card is made for my friend Bev who not only turns 40 today but is also due to have a baby at the beginning of May!
I turned to my trusty Stamping Bella stamps and coloured her with Promarkers and added some stickles glitter.
The paper is from Heidi Swapp - Mixed Company paper collection and I picked out the green accent to make a frame from the spellbinders die. I added some pink ribbon from my stash but it still needed a bit more bling...
I added the greeting from Craftworks cards and some ace Gold (Loving gold at the mo?!) glittery letters and numbers from Hobbycraft to personalise the card. I then used some Gold Doodlebug sprinkles to tie it altogether.
Skin - Coral, Soft peach, Blush, Antique White
Dress - Midnight Blue, China Blue, Cobalt Blue, Powder Blue
Hair - Sleigh Bells, Pineapple crush, Vanilla.
Presents - Carmine, Magenta, Salmon Pink / Soft Green & Pastel green / Powder blue & Cobalt Blue.
Hope you like it...
I'll be back tomorrow with some very exciting and big news for the Monkey Hut ... (:(|)x

The Latest creation...10th Anniversary Card.
I love this Some Odd Girl image - its perfect for this Anniversary card. I was asked to make this by a friend at work as a special anniversary card for his wife to celebrate there 10 years together. He wanted a Russian theme as that is where they met - the only other detail I got out of him was that his wife like Verve Clique Champagne (Don't we all?!) So I added a 2005 Vintage bottle of Champers!
The image of St Basil's was a free image from the Internet which I coloured with Promarkers - as were the digi image from SOG. The colours used are -
Skin - Spice, Coral, Soft Peach, Blush & Antique White.
His Hair - Warm Greys.
Jeans -Twilight Sky, Demin, Cornflower, Glacier blue.
Shirt - Cardinal Red, Ruby, Poppy, Red.
Her Hair - Nutmeg, Burnt Umber, Rosewood, Burgandy, Warm Greys
Top - Oatmeal, Gold, Bright Orange
Skirt & Shorts - Cool Greys
The Building is coloured using Light fawn, Nutmeg and Terracotta.
The greens are - Emerald, Green & Meadow Green the blue is True blue, Sea Blue and Polar blue.
The golds and red are the same of the clothing.
The background paper is from Mambi and I love the pearl effect the paper has - it shimmers beautifully! I added Peel off wording and Black glittery letters from Hobbycraft for "WIFE". The ribbon is from American crafts collection and I also added a diamante frill (Diamonds are the gem traditionally given as a gift for 10 year anniversaries apparently along with Tin ... Know which I'd prefer!!)
I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges -

The Image is from Stamping Bella and I matched the colours on the papers with the image. The Promarkers used are -
Skin - Coral, Soft Peach, Blush & Antique White (Flex)

Some Odd Girl - Colour swatch Journal
I posted a little bit ago about starting my colour journal along with Some Odd Girl posting Colour swatches. The challenge was then set to take another person's colour combo and use it. I picked one from Kim Rippere, that I was drawn to as it was so bright and vibrant but not one I would have thought of myself....
I used Promarkers Sea Green, Turquoise, Emerald, Bright Green and Pale Citrus to colour the dress of Tropical Mae from Some Odd Girl. I love how it turned out - So bright. I hyped up the tropical feel with the Hibiscus flower coloured in with Sunflower, Mandarin and Hot Pink.
I did think about colouring the whole thing in but then I would have wanted to use the image on a card rather than in my Colour Journal so I left the image unfinished.
I can't wait to find out what colour is next on the little journey!

The Dad's Big Birthdays.
The year of the big birthdays continue... This post its my Dad's 70th
and the future Father In Laws 60th. Being the milestones that they are I
decided they needed to be bigger than usual so I went for 8 x 8 square
cards. The bigger card demanded a bigger image.
I loved colouring this image with my promarkers. It from Dr Digi's House of Stamps - a digital stamp online shop.
www.doctor-digi.com
I used a templates for the large number and drew round them on the co-ordinating striped paper from the same kit - before mounting them on green card and cutting out again. Happy Birthday is a Pebbles sticker and the letters are from Doodlebug.
The promarkers used are -
Skin - Spice, Coral, Soft Peach, Blush & Antique White (Flex)
Hair & Newspaper - Warm Grey 1, 3 & 5
Pants - Icicle, powder blue, blue pearl.
Dressing Gown - Poppy, Ruby, Crimson, Cardinal Red & Burgandy.
Slippers - Pale Citrus, Lime Zest, Lime Green, Pear Green & Marsh Green.
The next card I made for my Dad - who last year took up Crown Green bowling. So I bought this digital image from Digistamp Boutique.
I used the templates for the large number and drew round them on Doodlebug - red spot paper before mounting them on blue card and cutting out again. The Letters for DAD and the "th" are also from Doodlebug. The Background paper is from Pink Paisley and has a gloss effect on the circles. I also added some Glaze on the Bowls to give them some extra dimension. I used a die to cut the grass and for the "happy".
Promarkers used -
Hat - Poppy, Ruby & Cardinal
Top - True Blue, Royal Blue, Egyptian blue (flex ) & Indigo Blue.
Grass - Lime Zest & Pale Citrus.
I would like to enter these cards into the following challenges -
www.ilovepromarkers.blogspot.co.uk "Stand By Your Man" Favourite song.
