Rescue Squad in Plaid

Morning - Today's Dr Digi image is called Rescue Squad.
I love the current trend for red and black plaid! I think I need a shirt just like this patterned paper! But how cosy does he look in his fur lined coat and gloves.
We are currently decorating our front room so we have no carpet down and it is freezing in there! I need this coat and gloves!

The base paper is from My Minds Eye Comfort and Joy collection whilst the plaid is from Simple Stories Classic Christmas. I mounted both these panels onto green bazzill card and wrapped some twine around the base and knotted in glove charm that was from my stash. I then cut an oval shape using my friskars cutter which I attached on top using 3d foam. I then placed the image on to the oval panel which is from American Crafts and has a wood grain texture to it. Finally I used a gold pen to add some metal details.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour the Rescue Squad -
Dog - Warm Greys
Jacket - Poppy, Ruby, Cardinal Red & Burgundy
Fur - Tan, Sandstone & Cinnamon.
Trousers - Pine & Forest Green.
Boots & Gloves - Holly.
Barrel - Cinnamon, Raw Sienna & Cocoa.
All edged with Powder blue.

Simple Santa on a Simple Sunday.

Hello - The theme for today is Simple... I have a little bit of a headache after being at a friends 40th Birthday party last night so everything I do today needs to be very simple and will be done very slowly!!!

The card I have made to show you today is using DR Digi image called Simple Santa. And I have kept the design very Clean and Simple too and even used a background paper and greeting from Simple Stories!! (It's like it did it on purpose!!) The range is called Claus & Co and it has lovely sparkle foiled elements - I really love it.

I used a friskars punch to make the boarded in red mirri card and mounted the greeting panel in the same. The Ribbon is from Hobbycraft. Other than that the card is very SIMPLE and with these lovely crisp images - I don't think they need much else. Oooo apart from a bit of diamond stickles on his fur trim!!

Morning - Here is today's card using Nightcap Derek from Dr Digi. I've been wanting to colour this image for a while and love how he turned out. I kept him quite manly with the blue and kraft combo. I don't know about you but I love my Bed! It is one of my favourite places and so so comfy!! I think Derek here agrees with me anyway. He certainly seems pretty pleased that its time to hit the sack.

The gold star and speech bubble are from Simple stories and I added the Happy from My Minds Eye Necessities sticker collection. Where're we goin?

Hello -
The new challenge begins at The Paper Shelter today and the theme is Holidays. I have wanted to colour this image for a while as I think its really pretty so today you see Where're we goin .
This is the first time I have coloured an image using Prismacolor pencils and I think I am in love with them! My thought process went a little like this.... Holiday... travel... postcards... luggage tags.... kraft...and the only thing that will colour on Kraft is Pencils. So I jumped right to it and just gave them a go. I'm very happy with the result considering I've never used them before.

I used patterned paper from Simple Stories Vintage Bliss collection which I trimed the edge from a 6x6 piece and used the spare at the bottom. To cover the gap I used some lace and a strip of watercolor wash paper from My Favourite things. I used the same paper in an embossing folder to create the Postcard. I used the same lace to add detail to the tag and glued a co-ordinating resin flower to cover the join. The heart stickers and Enjoy Tag are from the same Simple storied collection. The final little detail I added was to used a Gold pen to colour the corners of the case and the buckles.

There are great prizes at The Paper Shelter challenge

I used versamark to stamp the greeting and then heat embossed it with white powder from Papermania.
I used a little strip of Doodlebug washi tape and finally added the paper clip around which I tied a little ribbon.  I cut around the image and used 3d foam to attach it to the card after I added a little glaze to her glasses and the cup.

All dressed Up - Best Teacher Ever,

Evening folks. I am currently sat writing this with a belly full of food after eating some Pork, Cranberry and Rosemary Sausages with Mash, Gravy and Peas!! Just had to share that!! Its our village festival this weekend so I ventured to the Farmers market and got those bad boys!! They are huge too - I only managed one. So now I am washing my dinner down with a glass of red wine whilst I indulge my second favourite past time - Crafting! (First is eating... Ha!)

Today is the start of a new challenge at All Dressed Up - You can enter with any All Dressed up image for a chance to win. I have used an image called Best Teacher Ever.

The background paper is from Simple Stories Snap 6x6 pad. I die cut the star paper from Echo Park Techer's Pet collection using a large stitched circle die. I cut around the image and attached him to the card with 3D foam. I used a little gaze on his eyes and used wooden textured paper on the desk. Finally I added the Thank You greeting from Pebbles.
I am going to make a few Teacher Thank you cards and so left the bottom fairly empty so it could be personalised with the teachers name.

I used these promarkers and Flexmarkers -
Skin - Coral, Soft peach, Blush & Antique White with Baby pink cheeks.
Hat & Shirt - Cool Greys.
Eyes & cup - Powder & Sky blue.
Tie - Canary yellow.

The Fabulous dancing Squirrel.

I have a massive confession to make... I made this card for todays new challenge over at I LOVE PROMARKERS using an image from this fortnights sponsor Fabrika Fantasy called Dancing Squirrel.
What I didn't think of at the time was that the theme for the challenge was to use Pastel colours...

In my defence - life is a little manic at the mo!
I've used Simple Stories paper from the I heart summer collection and teamed it with the wood effect paper from Glitz and a little strip of orange card. I die cut a circle of pastel blue shimmer buzzkill using a lawn fawn stitched circle die. The wooden heart is from studio calico and I added a little yellow gem. Finally I added the wooden greeting using some pin flair glue.

I used these promarkers & flexmarkers to colour the squirrel -
Pumpkin, sunset & berry red,
Grass- aniseed, apple green & forest green.
Warm grey 2 for shading
Edged with cloud blue
Baby pink & antique pink on mouths and ears.
Flowers - canary & poppy

I hope you like this card and get chance to join in the challenge... Don't forget the theme though - like me!!

Wired for Sound

Morning All - Im on my own this weekend whilst the o't half is off on his stag do so I've had some quality time in my Craft room.
Today's post is using Wired for Sound.
It reminds me of the 80's with the roller skates as when we were growing up there was a roller rink in town. This shut down but has recently re-opened and its cool again... I've not strayed in yet but reckon I'd look pretty much like this image - In my throw back Neon legwarms!!

I used papers from Simple Stories DIY Boutique for both the patterned panels which I mounted onto co-ordinated card stock. I die cut the image using a Lawn Fawn Wonky stitch rectangle. I also die cut the silver chevrons using a My Favourite things die. I added three green Doodlebug sprinkles in the top corner and then added the greeting using Doodlebug letters in pink. I used a little silver pen to highlight bits on the image.

I coloured the image using these promarkers & flexmarkers -
Skin - Antique white, blush, soft peach, coral & Spice.
Hair - Ice Grey 3 & 1 along with a little Cloud blue.
Pads & walkman - Ice Grey 1 to 5.
Top - Arctic blue, Sky blue & Azure
Shorts - Lime twist, Lime green & Bright green,
Skates - Babo pink, carmine, shocking pink, vermillion.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges -

Funny Easter Bunny

Hello - Its time for a new challenge over at The Paper Shelter and the theme is Easter Time. I have used an image called Funny Easter Bunny. I tried to go along with a pastel theme... well this is as pastel as I get!! You know I'm a bright girl through and through!
This is the first card I've made with these new fancy edge card bases that I got from Create & Craft. I think it matches really well with the egg shaped corners and all the spots.

I coloured the image using my promarkers & Flexmarkers and then used a Friskars cutter to cut part way around the image to allow his big feet and ears to stick out. The papers I've used are both from Simple Stores Hello Baby collection which I cover the base in and then cut a panel from. I used a friskars edge punch on white card to attach to the edges of the panel. I stuck this panel on top of some ribbon from my stash that I made into a bow - so it is similar to the one the Bunny is wearing. The stamped greeting is a freebie I got from a magazine years ago. Finally I added some co-ordinating enamel dots from My Minds Eye.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour Funny Bunny -
Bunny - Ice Grey 1 & 3
Ears - Blossom & Rose pink
Bow tie - Aquamarine, Frosted Jade & Turquoise.
Egg - Apple green & Meadow green, Lemon & Yello, Cloud blue & Blender.
Cloud blue for edging and shading on white areas.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges -

Fan-tastic Tuesday- ATG

Now go get your entries done and submitted for your chance to win the fabulous prize  - you don't have to use a Paper Shelter image but you can win some !!

It's Retro Kids!

Morning All - something a bit different from my usual style as I've given my pens a day off and used paper piecing for a change. Now here's a question for you- What comes first... the paper or the image? Bit like the chicken or the egg?? I have to admit I bought this paper and didn't know what I would use it for but then I saw this perfect Dr Digi image called C60 and a design plan was hatched!

I did used the Warm Grey 5 and Black Promarkers just to give a little depth to the image and also a silver pen to colour the screws. The paper is from Basic Grey called B-side. I used a strip of matt black card to edge this to represent the tape inside the cassette. I printed the image put three times - once onto the patterned pink paper which is from Simple Stories snap basics collection, the other two were onto different shades of grey Bazzill. I cut the middle away and glued some acetate behind to create a window and used a little more of the matt black card to make it look like the wound up tape.
All the letter stickers are from Doodlebug Teeny type in Tangerine and finally I added some Doodlebug Sprinkles in co-ordinating colours as they reminded me of the buttons that used to be on my Ghettoblaster!! (Remember them Kids??)

And don't forget the Birthday card challenge is still going on the Dr Digi Facebook page... We would love to see your creations!

Jolly Chap with Kenny K

Morning - Time for another new Challenge over at I love Promarkers.
The challenge for this week is sponsored by Kenny K and the theme is "Men at Work"
I have used a image from Kenny K called Jolly Chap and I die cut around him using a new set of dies I got from My Favourite Things Die-Namics called Inside out stitched square dies.

I went with a kraft card background as it seemed more "manly" and made the black and white pop a bit more. The paper with printing on is from Simple Stories - DIY boutique, whilst the diagonal patterned papers are from My Minds Eye Black and Grey Necessities.
I die cut the skyscape from black and gold and slightly offset them to make them look like the light was glowing. I also die cut the Happy from gold card and created a little flag with the gold and patterned paper - which I then put a Gold Freckled Fawn heart on. The black & gold bow was from a pad of bows by Craftwork Cards called Noir De Luxe.

I used these promarkers & flexmarkers -
Skin -  Antique White, Blush, Soft peach, Coral & Spice.

Love in Venice

Today is the start of a new challenge over at The Paper Shelter and the theme is "Be My Valentine"
I have chosen to use an image called Love in Venice.
My main reason for picking this is because we have been talking about having a "Minimoon" for a few days straight after our wedding and top of the list at the moment is Venice. Its a place I have always wanted to go and the pictures of it look wonderful!

To make this card I covered the base with wood effect paper from Crate Paper DIY Shop. I cut a panel from the zigzag paper  and also the Polaroid shape which are both from Simple Stories I heart Summer. I use some heart ribbon from my stash across the bottom and a tiny scrap of yellow ribbon from American Crafts which I attached a Red Hobbycraft heart gem on to. I dies cut three hearts from red Bazzill card and little strip of yellow hearts. The greeting is a sticker from My Minds Eye Necessities.
I used gold pen to add some detail to the digi image and also some white pen to the water. Finally I gave the water a little sparkle with a white Wink of Stella pen.

I used these Promarkers & Flexmarkers to colour the image -
Skin - Antique white, Blush, Soft Peach, Coral & Spice.
His Hair - Burnt Sienna, Henna & Walnut
Her Hair - Buttercup, Pineapple crush, Sleigh Bells & Raw Sienna.
Red Clothing - Poppy, Ruby & Burgandy
Hat & Trousers - Ice Grey 1,3,4 & 5
