Banksy Claus

Morning all -

Today's card is using Banksy Claus from Dr Digi. This is such a fab image for those tricky teenagers. I've stuck with simple red here but the beauty of digital it can be in any colour!!

I have used paper from Studio Calico paper for the background as it reminded me of more graffitti. The brick pattern paper is from Simple Stories collection called I AM. I mounted this on black card and then added black house boarder.
I used glaze and whilst this was still sticky I added Cosmic Shimmer to make it look wet. I also used Diamond stickles on Santa's fur to give it a sparkle.

I used Red, Poppy and Cardinal red to colour the santa suit and Warm Greys 2 to 5 for his boots and gloves. I also used silver pen for the cannister.

Anyways I better get back to it... lots more cards to make yet before I'm done. Although I have got most of my Christmas shopping done after a mammoth session in Chester this week!! And if anyone is struggling to think of what to get me for Christmas - I'd love a Bansky...

Have a lovely day,

Rescue Squad in Plaid

Morning - Today's Dr Digi image is called Rescue Squad.
I love the current trend for red and black plaid! I think I need a shirt just like this patterned paper! But how cosy does he look in his fur lined coat and gloves.
We are currently decorating our front room so we have no carpet down and it is freezing in there! I need this coat and gloves!

The base paper is from My Minds Eye Comfort and Joy collection whilst the plaid is from Simple Stories Classic Christmas. I mounted both these panels onto green bazzill card and wrapped some twine around the base and knotted in glove charm that was from my stash. I then cut an oval shape using my friskars cutter which I attached on top using 3d foam. I then placed the image on to the oval panel which is from American Crafts and has a wood grain texture to it. Finally I used a gold pen to add some metal details.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour the Rescue Squad -
Dog - Warm Greys
Jacket - Poppy, Ruby, Cardinal Red & Burgundy
Fur - Tan, Sandstone & Cinnamon.
Trousers - Pine & Forest Green.
Boots & Gloves - Holly.

I added some Tilda ribbon and covered the bauble in the image with glaze pen which I then sprinkled with cosmic shimmer.
The chipboard bauble is from Scrapiniec and the hearts are from Wycinanka - I think these are my newest obession! I filled some of the shapes with Star dust stickles.

Simple Santa on a Simple Sunday.

Hello - The theme for today is Simple... I have a little bit of a headache after being at a friends 40th Birthday party last night so everything I do today needs to be very simple and will be done very slowly!!!

The card I have made to show you today is using DR Digi image called Simple Santa. And I have kept the design very Clean and Simple too and even used a background paper and greeting from Simple Stories!! (It's like it did it on purpose!!) The range is called Claus & Co and it has lovely sparkle foiled elements - I really love it.

I used a friskars punch to make the boarded in red mirri card and mounted the greeting panel in the same. The Ribbon is from Hobbycraft. Other than that the card is very SIMPLE and with these lovely crisp images - I don't think they need much else. Oooo apart from a bit of diamond stickles on his fur trim!!

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour the image -
Skin - Usual
Clothes - Red, Poppy, Ruby, Cardinal Red & Burgundy.
Sack - Pear green & Lime Zest with a Emerald & Grass green panel.
Boots and gloves - Cools greys
Used a little cool grey and powder blue to shade the beard also.

Right I'm off to get copious amount of tea ...
See you soon,

Christmas Chris All round.

Afternoon - Sorry i'm late today. I have no excused - I just wasn't organised so this card has literally just been finished in the Monkey Hut.
I've gone with a very rotund theme... Round card base, spotty paper, round die cut and a "portly" image from Dr Digi called Christmas Chris

I've left a space above the ribbon as I plan to customise this card for someone nearer to Christmas. I can add there name then along the curve with gold letters.
The fab gold spotty paper is from The Gilded collection from Die Cuts with A View and I mounted this onto  round base card. I die cut a circle using Lawn Fawn stitched dies from an embossed card piece from Spellbinders. The ribbon was from my ever growing stash! and the wooden embellishment was from kaisercraft. I used Christmas Holly stickles on the leaves and added 3 red gems.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers for Christmas Chris -
Skin - Usual with Cocktail pink cheeks and ears.
Hooves - Warm Grey 5,4, 3 &1
Holly - Lush & Forest Green
Berries & nose - Poppy, Ruby & Cardinal red

Sparkly Flamingo

OOPS I'm a bit late with this post... sorry and don't tell the bosses over at I love Promarkers!! Where the new challenge has gone live. The theme is No Patterened papers which I don't mind admitting was really hard for me! Thats really my thing - I have always wanted to create my own backgrounds with inks and stencils etc but just never seen to find the time. Plus I have such a huge stash of paper - 12x12 and 6x6 (But hush... Don't tell the other half I admitted that as I always NEED more!!)

So the challenge is sponsored by Digital Delights  and I have used an image called Festive flamingo. Which just has to be pink!!

I wish I could remember where the background die cut was from but I really can't and it doesn't say on it!! I coloured the bulbs and added some silver to make them shine. I glued this onto the sparkly Doodlebug glitter card and at the bottom some silver mirri to look like ice or a frozen lake. I mounted all this onto black card and then attached the fairy lights embellishment banner from Hobbycraft. I used the greeting from Kaiser craft and added some diamond stickles.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour the image -
Hat - Poppy, Burgundy & Cardinal
Skates - Cool grey 3,4,& 5 -with black.
Beak - Canary & gold
Wing - Magenta & Mulberry
Bird - Rose Peach & Carmine

All Dressed Up Christmas Tree Fairy

Afternoon  - Have you seen the gorgeous new releases at All Dressed up? I have used an image called Christmas Tree Fairy but you can get all the new releases and any other image here -} All Dressed up Etsy.  And for lots of inspiration visit the Challenge Blog.

The paper I have teamed up with our fairy is quite bold but I love the bright contrast of it with the white. Its from Tilda Christmas flowers collection. I die cut the image using Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle and mounted it onto gold mirri. Behind it I glued some shimmer ribbon and a die cut tree boarder from Lawn fawn using a lovely green satin card.
I used a sticker from Do crafts for the greeting but this was clear and got lost on the background so I stuck it onto some shimmery Vellum and then cut around it before attaching it with 3D foam.
On the fairy I used a gold pen to make the stars sparkle and diamond stickles on her wings and finally added a few red gems from Papermania.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour the image -
Skin - Coral, Soft peach, Blush, Antique white & baby pink.
Hair - Warm grey 5, 4 & 2
Wings - Powder blue
Skirt - Baby Pink, Carmine & Magenta
Tree - Lime & Pear green and Emerald & Lush green.

Santa Selfie

Morning - I have been busy making Christmas cards and today I am showing you one made with Santa Selfie.
One of the things I love most about Dr Digi image is that they are great for the Men in our lives. So often its hard to find images for the boys that are not too cute or stereotypical "Masculine"  like cars and sports. Dr Digi allows me to make humorous cards and at the mo I am loving the wood effect backgrounds and elements - which go perfectly with the Dr Digi guys.

The papers are from Simple Stories Snow days and I have die cut snowflakes from Vellum using Lawn Fawn dies. I have also added some wooden embellishments that are from Do Crafts (I think?)
I've included the next picture to show the shimmer and snowy effect I have tried to add using Sakura Glaze and Souffle pens along with Stickles and using Powder Blue Promarker to add shading.

I have used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour Santa -
Skin - Antique white, blush, soft peach, coral, Spice & Cocktail pink cheeks
Pants - Red, Poppy, Ruby & Cardinal red.
Shirt - Linen with gold buttons
Braces, Boots, Mobile & Hat - Warm Grey 1,2 4 & 5
Scarf - Lime Zest, Lime green & Pear green, Sky blue, arctic blue & indigo blue.
Stick arm - Sandstone, Burnt Umber & Cocoa
Snowman - Powder blue.

I would like to enter this card into these challenges -

Baby's 1st Christmas

Today is the start of a new challenge at The Paper Shelter  and the theme is "For a child" so I have used this cute image called Christmas Stocking

I used paper from Simple Stories Claus and Co collection for the background and coloured the image in to match. I cut around the image and attached it to the background with 3d foam and a small silver gem to look like a nail head. I added a few glittery silver stars from Doodlebug and two larger stars from Simple Stories.
I used Harolds ABC alphabet stamps from Lawn Fawn to spell out Baby's First Christmas and finally added some star dust stickles to the fur and bobble of the hat.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour the image -
Skin - Antique white, Blush, Soft Peach, Coral & Spice with Cocktail pink cheeks.
Leaves - Forest green, Pine & Holly.

I love promarkers distressed edges

Hello - today sees the start of the new Challenge at I love Promarkers and the theme is Distress those edges.
This isn't something I do very often so I'm not that great at it. I used a Tim Holtz distresser on all the edges but obviously I'm not heavy handed enough (ha - if only!!) as you can barely see the effect on this picture.
The image I have used is from iKESART digital stamps and is called Muse 3.

I have used paper from My Minds Eye Fancy That collection to cover the background. I used a Paper Smooches die cut to make the greeting from pink Satin card. I die cut the image using Lawn Fawn stitched square die and mounted this on the same pink Satin card. Finally I added 3 co-ordinating gems.

I have used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour the image -
Skin - Antique White, Blush, Soft Peace, Coral & Spice.
Hair - Raw Sienna, Sleigh Bells, Mustard, Pineapple crush, Vanilla & Warm grey 3
Lips and Nails - Magenta, Carmine & Hot pink.
Eyes - Pastel Green & soft green.

We would love to see all your entries into the challenge - Prizes everyweek!!

Don't lose your Head!

As it is very nearly Halloween I have used a Dr Digi image called Headless.
I knew I wanted to colour this image but wasn't sure what to create to go with him as we don't really do Halloween - but then whilst hunting through my stash for inspiration I found this ribbon / twine - not really sure what to call it really! But it reminded me of whispy cobwebs and spooky haunted houses.
I have cut some Simple Stories Frankie and Friends paper and matted it on black and dark red base card. I actually went about this card a bit wonky as I found the twine and stuck this all over the base card before I had decided to add the washi tape (From Hobbycraft) and the peel off (From my stash!) So I had to do some jigging around and that whispy stuff got everywhere!!

I added the doodlebug letters using all different fonts which is a great way to use up all the spares! I also used a little gold pen to add the details of buttons and buckles.

I used these promarkers / flexmarkers to colour the image -
Skin - Antique white, Blush, Soft Peach, Coral & Spice.
Pants - Marsh Green & Pesto
Jacket - Poppy, Ruby, Cardinal Red, Crimson & Burgundy.
Collar - Linen & Sandstone
Shoes & hair - Warm Grey 1-5

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges -

Hope you have a spooky weekend!

White on white.

Morning - I'm playing catch up at the mo as I have missed a couple of blog post just due to life being busy. So today I am killing two birds with one stone ... or maybe its cheating a little but its necessary so please forgive me!
So today I am showing you a card I made using Dr digi image Crouching Tiger Hidden Dunderton
This was actually created for a challenge at I Love Promarkers where the theme this fortnight is White on white... but after I had finished it I decided to add the blue ribbon - I thought it was like the belt!! You know me by now... Its all about colour!!
I used an embossing folder I got from The Range and then attached a panel of the acetate stars from Bella Blvd. I die cut the Good Times and glued it on, along with the die cut stars using a die from Sunny Studio. I attached the image using 3 d foam and ties the ribbon from American crafts into a knot.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour the image -

To make this card I used a circular card base and covered it with the eye paper from Doodlebug Boos and Brews collection. I added some enamel dots and finally some spider peel off stickers.

I coloured the image using Promarkers and Flexmarkers -

Retro bathtime with Dr Digi.

Morning - Here is today's creation using Bath Time Deirdery from Dr DIGI.
and I have gone a bit retro. I went with an advacado green bath tub like we had growing up and then to match I added some flying ducks... well birds were all I had!! I reckon our Deirdery would not get rid of anything that still worked - I don't think she is a slave to fashion!

In truth I have fell out of love with modern technology today as my digital harddrive is refusing to work so I can't access any of my digital images or photos or anything and I am pretty gutted ! I hope they can be retrieved so fingers crossed but luckily I had this image and a couple of others already printed.

The papers are all from Tilda Summer Blues collection and I cut them all to slightly different lengths. I added the resin birds which I think I got from ebay sometime ago and used silicon to give them a firm stick to the base kraft card. I tied a length of pink satin twine from Hobbycraft around the side and added the image with 3d foam to stand out a little.
I used a gold pen on the feet and tap and added some diamond stickles to the bubbles but you can't see that very well on this photo.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour our Deirdery -
Skin - Antique white, blush, soft peach, coral & spice.
Hair - Pink Mittens, Baby Pink and Pastel pink.
Hat - Powder blue.
Duck - Lemon, Canary & sleigh bells.
Bath, matt & pillow - fresh meadow, apple, green shoots, apple cider & moss.
Edge of matt - Prussian
Paper & pipes - Warm grey 1 & 2

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges -

It also gave me the chance to use my new stamps from My Favourite things - called Sweet Succulents. The greeting is also from the stamp collection. I coloured  the Cactus using pink, green & gold Wink of Stella pens that I used more like watercolours and it worked really well as they really sparkle. Morning - Here is today's card using Nightcap Derek from Dr Digi. I've been wanting to colour this image for a while and love how he turned out. I kept him quite manly with the blue and kraft combo. I don't know about you but I love my Bed! It is one of my favourite places and so so comfy!! I think Derek here agrees with me anyway. He certainly seems pretty pleased that its time to hit the sack.

I used a My Favourite things die cut background to cut the blue bazzill zigzagz and then trimmed to base card down a little to fit better. The gold star and speech bubble are from Simple stories and I added the Happy from My Minds Eye Necessities sticker collection.
