There is a new challenge starting today at The Paper Shelter blog and the theme is New Beginnings. I have used an image called A Papercraft fun
The reason being that I got new pens for Christmas... I got my first set of COPICS! So excited.. I have umm'ed and argh'ed about them for ages as they are expensive but the Husband bought me a pack of skin tones and I was sold as soon as I used one - that brush nib!! Its brilliant! So I then bought another two sets. I'm still a long way from having a full set but I will get there eventually.
The patterend paper is from Pink Paislee Fancy Free collection and I used a MFT Dienamics banner which I attached letters from Websters pages stickers on. I also used a die to die cut the "good times" The Image I die cut into a panel using Mft wonky stitched rectangle. Finally I added some enamel flowers from My Minds Eye Just Gorgeous collection.
I haven't recorded what Copics colours I used as I was just playing and experimenting really but I will start doing soon.
Im looking forward to seeing all your "new beginning" creations!

Not all Heroes wear capes.
Morning - Firstly I'm sorry I haven't been around for a while - I have been very busy at work. I have made this card as a little colouring therapy for me as a break from work but also to show my thanks for all those first responders and people who risk there safety on a daily basis -I include all the emergency services in that - not just the police!
I'm sure you will all have seen the horrific news and footage of events in Manchester last week on the 22nd May. I got called into work in Manchester at 11.30 pm that evening to help deal with the incident but I was in a safe location away from any risk so I do not consider myself as one of the "heroes" but I feel priviledged to have been able to do my bit to help all those affected.
So I hope you don't mind my card being a slightly different take on the challenge theme of Super Heroes over at I love Promarkers using this image from Digital Delights called Policeman Scottie.
The Worker bee is a symbol of Manchester and represents resilience and the work ethic of industrial Manchester so this paper from Authentique called Be(you)tiful Persevere was perfect. The blue paper is from Papermania as is the ribbon of Union Jacks.
I used a Die-namincs banner die to cut the banner in gold card and used Doodlebug letters to add the letters and a red Hobbycraft heart.
I used Harolds ABC alphabet from Lawn Fawn to spell out and stamp the greeting.
I used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour the image -
Skin - Antique White, Blush, Soft Peach, Coral & Spice.
Hair - Umber & Cinnamon
Uniform - Storm Blue, Twlight Sky, Midnight Blue & Indigo Blue
Hat & Shoes - Cool Greys.
I also used a touch of black and a gold pen to add some metallic details.
I hope you like my card - it was first chance to colour for a while so it was definatly a way of relaxing. I don't know about you but I don't really think about anything else when I am busy using my pens.
Thanks for stopping by - Please leave a comment so I know who's beeeeen!

Spring clean Sonia.
Morning - I hope you have all popped over to the Dr Digi facebook page and joined our little competition to win some freebies... if not get yourself there now... you just have to like and share the pinned post for a chance to win!!
Today I am sharing a card with you today that I made for a friends Mother in law who loves cleaning!! This image is from Dr Digi and called Spring Clean Sonia
So cleaning...? Personally I don't do much of it but luckily the other half does get some odd enjoyment from it. (Im too busy crafting!!) Are you planning a big spring cleaning frenzy??
I used a My Favourite things die cut to make the banner from mirri card and used Doodlebug letters to spell out the name. I cut a section of paper from My Minds Eye The Sweetest Thing collection and then glued a stripe of ribbon and the banner over the top. I used promarkers to colour the Make It Crafty die cut happy and glued the two layers together. I cut a section from a Happy Birthday clear sticker from Kaisercraft and added this to the ribbon.. Finally I added a row of gems across the top and a few scattered around the image.
I used these promarkers and Flexmarkers to colour the image -
Skin - Antique White, Blush, Soft Peach, Coral & Spice with Baby Pink cheeks and Powder Blue eyes.
Hair & mop - Chestnut, Raw Sienna, Caramel & Cinnamon.
Bucket, Apron & shoes - Blue greys
Gloves -Lemon, Canary & Summer Sun
Skirt - Fresh Bloom, Tropical Orchid, Wild Cranberry & Maroon.
Top - Pink Mittens, Baby Pink & Carmine
Bucket head & cloth - Vanilla, Champagne & Linen
Thanks for stopping by... forget the spring clean... just go an play with your crafty stash and claim you are "sorting" it!!

Mum's 70th Birthday
Morning - I know I told you it was my Mum's70th birthday recently but I don't think I showed you the card I made for her using Stamping Bella - Uptown Girl Brittany the Birthday Girl
(As a side issue... how are is it to photograph a card that has foiling detail on it??!) The kraft card has lovely gold detailled flags and is from Dear Lizzy American Crafts.
I die cut a banner from Purple swiss dot bazzill card and used Doodlebug letter stickers to spell put 70th. I mirrored the big bow of the image with a big purple ribbon bow from Paperchase and then added the Happy Birthday which I cut in half to fit in the space better. These are from Pebbles. I also added a little silver pen to add details and some co-ordinating purple gems from Papermania
I used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour the image -
Skin - Antique white, Blush, Soft peach, Coral, Spice and Baby Pink.
Hair - Warm grey 5 & 3
Cake - Gold, Sunflower & Canary.
Dress - Pink Pearl, Spring lilac, Wild Orchid, Red violet & Imperial Purple.
I hope you like it - I know Mum did. We bought her a lovely necklace too made up of 7 rings and with an amethyst in the middle as this is the Birthstone for February and why I went with this purple and gold theme.
See you back here soon with some very exciting news....
