Big Hugs & Naps

Evening - Todays new challenge at The Paper Shelter is to use a fancy fold. This was quite a challenge for me as I don't do these very often. I have used a twisted easel card and my image from the paper shelter is called The Best Nap ever

I used Nestibilities die to cut the image frame and mounted this on to gold mirri. I used a Lawn Fawn big scripty word to die cut Big Hugs from gold mirri and also white card and I glued several of these together to form a stopper for the Easel. The patterned papers are from My Minds Eye - Miss Caroline. I used a little diamond stickles on the hat and added a little wooden elephant (Which I think was Kaisercraft?) Finally I added some Craftwork cards candy dots.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour the image -
Skin - Antique white, soft peach, blush, coral, spice.
Hair - Tawny Owl, Grey Squirrel, Morning Mist.
Primrose, Buttercup & Pineapple Crush. Sea Mist & Honeydew
Elephant - Soft Mauve, Heather, orchid & Spring Lilac. Warm Grey 1 & 2 toes & Cerise & Baby pink ears.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges -

I hope you like this card as much as I do - Its not the norm for me to do pastel and I like the softness of it!
Pop in again soon.

Nan's birthday - Mesmerising Scent.

Good Morning - There is a new challenge this morning over at I love promarkers and the theme is Flowers and Nature.
I have used an image from The Paper Shelter called -  Mesmerizing scent. And I actually used this image to make Nan's birthday card.

I covered the base card with My Minds Eye - My Story paper - but because this is a bigger card I had space left at the bottom so I used a Friskars boarder punch to cut some Bazzill bling and under this I glued gold Mirri. I also added some detail using a thin piece of gold diamond washi tape from Hobbycraft.
I die cut the image with a Lawn Fawn stitched frame and mounted this on gold mirri and tied some ribbon around it in a bow. I added a Craftworks cards greeting and a Petaloo butterfly. Finally I added the gold letters from ... to spell out Nan and a heart.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers -
Leaves - Honeydew & Mint
Butterfly & bottle top - Primrose, Buttercup, Pineapple Crush, Sleigh Bells.
Shading - Warm Grey 1 & 3
Bottles -Powder Blue
Flowers - Pink Mittens, Baby Pink, Carmine
Bows - Ruby, Poppy & Red

Phyllis the Festive Fairy.

Hello -  Todays post for Dr digi is using an image called Phyllis the festive fairy. I had every intention of making a christmas card but got carried away with all the pink and gold! But how versitile - shows how these images can be used for so many different occasions.

And I am definatly beginning to understand the concept of leaving white space on an image rather than swamping it full of colour!!

The paper is from My Minds Eye - My story collection and I love the gold foiling. I die cut some gold stars using a new star boarder die from Sunny Studio. I also die cut a big star using Nestibilities dies from EK Success Pixie dust vellum and I edged this with gold peel offs! The Greeting is also peel offs. Finally I used some diamond stickles on Phyllis' wings and some gold pen on her wand.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers -
Skin - Antique white, blush, soft peach, coral & Spice.
Hair - Warm greys 1, 2 & 3
Dress - Pink mittens, Baby pink & Carmine
Wings - Powder blue and cloud blue.

I hope you like Phyllis  - she would like to enter these challenges -

All for now,

Over the moon with All Dressed Up.

Hello - It's time for the first Challenge over at All Dressed Up since the rejigging of the Blog. You can use any image to enter this challenge - with only one rule... IT MUST BE AN ALL DRESSED UP IMAGE. This isn't hard as there are so many beautiful image on the etsy page here...
But on the blog there are also some freebies - so there are no excuses for not joining in!!

My DT card is using an image called Over The Moon.
I actually made this card as it was a Cousins wedding and I just thought it lent itself perfectly for lots of gold and sparkle and so I could use my new paper from My Minds Eye called Yes Please.

I cut a panel of the paper and mounted it onto Black card. I die cut the image using a Nestibilities die and cut another also from the black.
I tied a ribbon across the top and tied this in a bow. I used Lawn Fawn big scripty words die to cut about six Congrats from black card and one from gold. I glued all these together - putting the gold one on top. I am really pleased with how it has come out! Finally I added a gold heart from Freckled Fawn. I coloured the moon using Cosmic Shimmer watercolours in Olympic gold but I tried to keep them quite thick rather than too wet. I also used a little gold pen to add detail to his outfit and some diamond stickles on her dress and Veil.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour the image -
Skin - Antique White, Blush, Soft Peach, Coral & Spice.
Hair - Burgundy, Henna & Chestnut.
Dress  - Powder blue, Satin & Linen
Flowers - Soft Green, Violet & Lilac
His Clothes - Warm greys 1 to 5

I love the way this has turned out! I love all things shimmery and gold!!

Sundae Sue

Morning all - I have Bagsy'd the brand new images being released today for my card using Sundae Sue. There are matching papers and a separate Sundae glass too which I have used to create a little gift tag. I can just picture her in a Diner with her can of squirty cream being all flirty with the customers!! You can find all the new releases HERE at the Dr Digi shop

I have used the matching papers in pink and mounted them on black card. I stuck a little scrap black spotty paper in the bottom corner as a floor for Susie to stand on. I added a little pink spotty ribbon and punched a circle from gold card that I attached the Craftwork Cards greeting to. I then added SWEET in big gold American Craft Thickers. I have also used a little diamond stickles on both the card and the tag. To the tag I also added a button where the cherry is and attached some twine to the button.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers -
Skin - Antique White, Blush, Soft Peach, Coral & Spice.
Hair -  Buttercup, Pineapple crush & Sleigh bells.
Dress - Baby pink, Carmine & Magenta, Powder blue & Bluebell.
On the Sundae - I also used Poppy and Eggnog.

Hope you like these new images as much as I do!!
See you soon,

Gorgeous Real Girl

Morning - Here is a post about a card that I made to sell in the Flipside cakery at Abersoch. I thought this image was perfect... food and bikini for the cake and beach location!
She is called Real Girl and unfortunately no longer available as the fab Saturated Canary have shut the shop in preference for a subscription. But I was lucky enough to buy lots before it closed.

The background paper is from Carta Bella Beach Day collection and I teamed it with matching bazzill card to die cut the squares using Lawn Fawn Inside outside stitched square frame. I also tied co-ordinating twine from We Are Memory Keepers and attached a Wooden embellishment like a flag which I used Doodlebug Rubs ons to spell out Gorgeous. Finally I add three little red hearts from Hobbycraft.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers  to colour the image -
Skin - Antique white, blush, soft peach, coral, spice & baby pink.
Eyes - Sky Blue
Hair - Buttercup, Pineapple crush, Sleigh Bells, Mustard & Raw sienna.
Bikini - Royal Blue & Poppy.
