Melvin the mod
Morning All - Today I am sharing with you a card I made for Making Cards magazine using Melvin the Mod from Dr Digi.
I had a big birthday this last week and the various celebrations have gone on all week so all my good intentions of having a brand new creation for you have gone a little wayward!!
I had a big birthday this last week and the various celebrations have gone on all week so all my good intentions of having a brand new creation for you have gone a little wayward!!
Ingredients –
Paper – My Favourite things – Black &
White basics
Lawn Fawn Large stitched circle dies.
American Crafts Thickers Letters
Craftworks card greeting panel.
Orange stickles
Silver & White pen
Blue, white & Red card / paper.
I made a square card blank into a round base card by trimming off the
corners. I used a Lawn Fawn die to cut the circles of different colour
papers and glue onto the base card and covered the bottom section of the card with black
and white patterned paper.
I used these Promarkers for skin - Skin – Antique
White, Blush, Soft Peach, Coral & Spice.
And these Copics -
And these Copics -
Tyres & Shoes - C7, C5, C3 & Black
Jeans – B93, B95 & B97
Jacket – YG63, G85 & YG67
Bike – B000, B00 & BG01
Light – Y17, YR04 &YR07
I Cut around Melvin and put 3D foam on the rear
and place him on the base card off centre. I added some details to metal of the bike with a
silver pen and some highlights with a white pen and used some stickles to make the headlight shine.
I used Amercian thickers to add the letter stickers to spell out a
greeting and mounted
the greeting panel from Craftworks card onto black so it stands out, cut around
and stick to your finished card with 3D Foam.
I I hope you like my card and will join me back here on Wednesday when I have new cards to show you from The Paper Shelter.

Life is good.
Sooo I obviously coloured this image when it was still sunny!! You know that whole weekend we had...??!
This is using Tiki Tim from Dr Digi and papers from Doodlebug Fun in the Sun collection. I coloured Tim with Copics and used more tanned skin tones whilst adding white dots to his shirt using a Posca pen. I also mounted the panel on green satin card.
Hopefully Tim will bring us more sunshine - especially as we have started the rennovations on our house - Not sure how I'll cope if it gets colder!!
All for now,

Gripper gives big hugs.
Morning All - I will be in work when you are reading this but I can
post thanks to the wonders of scheduling! So this week I have been
colouring Gripper Stebson just because he is a cracking image and I reckon he is really a big ol'softie who just wants to give you a big hug!!
I used paper from My Minds Eye Alphabet soup collection and covered a square card base. I use a Die-namincs in and out diagonal stitched square die to cut the frame from red card and a Spellbinders nestibilities die to cut the star from black card. I die cut the greeting from gold card using Big Scripty die from Lawn Fawn and added some gold foam stars from Pink Fresh.
I used my usual skin combo for his skin but the rest of Gripper was coloured with Copics. I added little details with a gold pen and white posca pen.
Hope you like this weeks cards and come back next week to see my next Dr Digi creation,

Mum's Birthday.
Morning - Today's card is one I have made for my Mum's birthday using Dr Digi image called Salon Deirdrey. Mum asked for a voucher for the Hairdressers for her birthday so once again Dr Digi came to the rescue with this perfect image for me to create with. I am so grateful there are talented people out there to draw the pictures that I get to play with!!
I used paper from My Favourite Things Smitten pad and used a MFT puffy clouds die to cut the edges. I joined them together using acetate and them attached my image panel. The image was die cut with MFT inside outside stitched frame die and mounted onto silver mirri. I also used silver pen on the chair legs but you cna't really tell!!
I added a clear Happy Birthday sticker on some orange card and some Doodlebug letters to spell out Mum. I also used a white POSCA pen (Which I think is brilliant by the way!!) to add some details to the images. The rest of the image I coloured with my new copics... which I am in love with!!
Although I still used my promarkers for the skin... I still need more practice with the copics skin pens.
I used these copics -
Chairs - BG10, BG23, BG49
Cushion - B000, B23, B24, B28
Dress - RV10, RV21, RV14
Hairdryers - Y21, Y35, YR16
Dog & Deirdery's hair - E31, E35, E37
So it's not actually my Mums Birthday till tomorrow but we are going out for dinner today and so the card and gift voucher will be handed over later... hopefully she won't see this until then??!
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges -
Allsorts - spots and stripes
Right - All from me for now. Have a lovely day,

Some Bunny Loves You.
Hello - Hopping by to show you my latest card for Dr Digi using the Cuddly Critters again. This one is called Rabbit. I'm trying to practice my fur colouring as its a bit of a sticking point for me so I coloured this little chap up with Prismacolor pencils on a Kraft card base. I also treated myself to a new white pen and wow - its brilliant!!
I thought would add a cute little sentiment and then I could use this as Valentines card... wonder who will be the (un)lucky recipient???
I used Echo Park Dot and Stripes collection paper and just cut little flags. And Lawn Fawn Harolds ABC to stamp the greeting.
My new with pen added the dots in his eyes, nose and a little on his teeth. The pen is a 0.7mm from Posca and its not a roller ball end so doesn't get clogged up by the waxiness of the pencils.
I used these pencils -
White, Cloud blue PC1023, PC904 - for white shading.
Fur - PC 1060, 1063, & 1065 which are 20% / 50% & 70% Cool grey .
I used Pink PC 929 & Blush pink PC 928 on his nose and ears.
For the grass I used various greens including PC 989 Chartreuse, PC913 Spring Green, PC912 Apple Green, PC 909 Grass Green.
Thanks for Hopping by!!
See you soon,
