The Paper Shelter round up 2020

Wow I have been terrible at doing my blog lately... by lately I mean most of 2020. Its been a strange old year hasn't it. Been changes and promotions at work, we got a another rescue pup and did some more house renovations. Along the way I have been crafting and colouring but very lazy when it comes to posting so here is a bumped selection of cards made with The Paper Shelter images for the Blog challenge.
Enjoy, Liz (:(|)x

Halloween Hugs

Hello - I am being very lapse with my own blog of late. I am busy with the pup and determined to get all my dt cards made and posted so my blog is the thing that gives sometimes. I am thinking about a revamp to be honest... but I would also like to set up a full website so I can sell some of my card stash!! It just depends on finding the time!
So here is my card from The Paper Shelter from the latest challenge with the theme Halloween. It was a really lovely image to colour and it called My Little She-devil Costume.

I kept the card quite simple and think the black stripes are quite striking with the red HUGS which is a die cut.
Hope you like it and are having a good weekend.

Cracker image for a Pun

Morning -
Have you seen this new image yet from Dr Digi. Its called Safecracker Sam.
I enjoyed colouring him as I got to practice my Black shading. Using a little trick I had learnt at a copic class of leaving a small lighter edge to show some the depth.

And you know I love a pun so what better than this "Cracker" but I do wonder if Sam got much swag?

The paper is from My favourite things and I mounted the image onto black card. I used green lettters from Doodlebug and some silver and black letters from Hobbycraft.
Have a fab Sunday peeps, See you next week

Blue and yellow Copic challenge.

Hello

It is the 1st June!! How did that happen? But is does mean the new challenge has started over at Copic UK and this months theme is to use Blue & Yellow. I've used this fab curvy girl image from Stamping Bella and teamed her up with paper from My Favourite things
I used a Make It Crafty Chipboard greeting which I coloured with Copics. I also added some Clear wink of Stella but Im not sure you can see the sparkle too much on this photo.

Well I hope you like her and will all join in the challenge,

Have a great weekend

Curvy Yellow birthday

Afternoon... I love love love this image from Stamping bella called Curvy girl bride rubber stamps
that I was lucky enough to get my sticky fingers on in the new release at Dies to die for.
(Fab shop that I highly recommend btw)
Now I know its supposed to be a wedding dress but I don't need to make any of those at the mo and really wanted to colour this up so I went rouge and did the dress yellow! Possibly my favourite colour - its so happy!! I  went with a completely different background colour to make the yellow pop even more and used this gorgeous pink wash paper from Cocoa Vanilla Happiness collection.

I coloured the image with copics and used a little stickles on her ribbon which I have tried to show in the picture below. I did some serious pleatage practice with this one on the skirt but think they look pretty good. I  went with a completely different background colour to make the yellow pop even more and used this gorgeous pink wash paper from Cocoa Vanilla Happiness collection.

I'm chuffed with how this card has turned out with the extra large brithday clear sticker from Pebbles too and the black and white striped paper from My Favourite things. Finally a few yellow enamel dots finished off the card.

All for me from now - Have a lovely weekend,

Dumbell derek

This is Dumbell Derek  from Dr Digi - keeping his strength up and doing his fitness training to stay young and healthy. I thought this sentiment from My Favourite things was perfect to go with him but I am not sure how those bandy legs and knobbly knees are holding him up.

I have kept this card clean and simple but I think it looks quite effective with the striped My Favourite things paper.
I am in work today so I hope you all have a much more fun than I do!

Love is in the air.

Afternoon -
I'm back again today as it is New Release day over at All Dressed Up Stamps and I got to play with this image called Wedding Balloon. The version of this in the shop has a veil on the bride also. But I thought it would make a perfect anniversary card as Ben proposed to me in a Hot Air Balloon (Despite him being afraid of heights!!) so Wendy was happy for me to use it without the veil. I would always recommend asking the designer / artist before you alter an image though as it could be a copyright issue.

The image was coloured with copics and I used a die to create the cloud edge and attached both pieces to acetate and glued blue stripped My Favourite things paper behind.

You can see the other new releases over at the All Dressed Up Challenge blog or at the All dressed up Facebook group.  And please share your creations with us! We love to see what everyone is making with these lovely images.

Growing Up is optional

Hello -
I am sharing you a card I made for the Father in Laws birthday last weekend. I loved this sentiment and thought this image called Duncan Disorderly was perfect to go with it.

Curious how the "creative process" works (Not really sure I can call what I do something so professional...!!) I wonder if you build a card or pick an image around an idea or something in your craft stash or if like me you as I just colour and see what happens!!

I used dies, Striped paper and the stamped sentiment from My Favourite things. I coloured the image with copics and the letters are Thickers from American Crafts.

I hope you like Duncan and I will be back next Sunday with more fab Dr Digi images,

Hugs for Mother's Day

Howdie all!
I though I should share with you my latest creation using a brand new image from All Dressed Up called Pretty Blooms.
This is a Mothers day image but I actually cut the greeting which says Love you Mummy away as I think my Mum would think I had gone made calling her Mummy - but it just shows how versatile this image is as it really could be for any type of card. I love her - I think it is a really cute image.

I coloured her with copics and used a die cut to cut out HUGS and layered some My Favourite things paper on the base card so it shows through the letters. The Happy Mothers Day across the top is a stamp from Lawn Fawn.

You can see all the other new release images and some amazing inspiration by the DT here at the ADU challenge blog  and here at the ADU facebook page
They really are lovely new images as always from our talented Wendy.

Enjoy your Friday evening folks,

Love All dressed Up Bunny

Hello - Time for me to share with you my latest Design team card for All Dressed Up. This time I've used a section of an image called A time to give - I edited the image and then printed just the Bunny part to colour and cut out. I knew I wanted the Bunny to be a shade of grey but I actually used B60 and then the palate developed from there. I only used 6 pens - so shows what you can do with a limited selection.
Im really pleased with how she has turned out although I tried to stamp the greeting in a pale grey but it looked a bit patchy so I ended up going over it with my black copic.

The papers are from My Favourite things and the enamel heart is from My Minds Eye and the stamped greeting is from Paper Smooches.

You can find all the other DT cards and the challenge blog details here  -} February challenge #90
I would love to see lots of All Dressed Up creations!

Chocolate - is the answer to everything!

Hello - I love the Edna stamps and the curves and attitude of this lady!! I made this card for my Mums Birthday as we all love chocolate in our family and she is great fun to colour up. I tried to make the wings look translucent and added a little Wink of Stella to give them a sheen.

I hope you like her - I know my Mum chuckled at her Edna card.
All for now,

Dr Demento

Morning - did you all enjoy the extra hour in bed?
Im doing a colouring class this weekend so it was fun to put into practice some tips and techniques I learnt. This image is from Dr Digi and is called Dr Demento - I thought it was perfect for this Halloween week. Although I doubt we will get any Trick or Treaters as they would have to negotiate our building site and currently we have a moat whilst the porch is being done!! Maybe I should fill it with dry ice and lights to make it scary!!!

I hope you like my card - there are loads of seasonal images to play with at Dr Digi so pop over and pick up a few. And share it with us at the Dr Digi facebook page

Happy Buddhist Bernie

Morning - I took this picture late last night as I'm currently staying at my Mums dog sitting -  two benefits... there is no dust and there is a cooker!! Downside is I have even less crafty stuff and had to take this photo with a lamp so apologies for the quality of the photo.
So whilst I have been away from the reno's I've coloured up Buddhist Bernie.
He is such as fabulous image and would fit so many occassions -  I tried to play with my skin tones too! I think they have worked out pretty good.

So Im hoping by the end of this week I may have a fully fitted working kitchen.... I do now have a working bathroom with shower and bath with running hot water!!! I love a bath but I'm going to wait until its all painted and cleaned properly so I can relax with some music and wine. Can you guess what Image I'll colour that week?? Lol!
Right - Better get back to the white paint being sucked up by the fresh plaster!!

Hen Do!

Morning  - I was at my Sister-in-laws Hen party last week and so I coloured this image up, which is called Bachelorette Babs. It just shows Dr Digi has an image for every occasion
I kept the card fairly simple and covered a base card with My Favourite things Black & white basic stripes and two stripes of Washi tape.
I added a few gems and some hearts and lips from some stickers I got on sale at Paperchase.
I used florescent pink copic to colour the image along with grey copics.

Right thats all from me for now... make sure you visit the website to see all the latest image and there are many perfect ones for your Fathers Day cards!

Melvin the mod

Morning All - Today I am sharing with you a card I made for Making Cards magazine using Melvin the Mod  from Dr Digi.
I had a big birthday this last week and the various celebrations have gone on all week so all my good intentions of having a brand new creation for you have gone a little wayward!!

Ingredients –
Paper – My Favourite things – Black & White basics
Lawn Fawn Large stitched circle dies.
American Crafts Thickers Letters
Craftworks card greeting panel.
Orange stickles
Silver & White pen
Blue, white & Red card / paper.

I made a square card blank into a round base card by trimming off the corners. I used a Lawn Fawn die to cut the circles of different colour papers and glue onto the base card and covered the bottom section of the card with black and white patterned paper.

I used these Promarkers for skin - Skin – Antique White, Blush, Soft Peach, Coral & Spice.
   And these Copics  -
Tyres & Shoes - C7, C5, C3 & Black
Jeans – B93, B95 & B97
Jacket – YG63, G85 & YG67
Bike – B000, B00 & BG01
Light – Y17, YR04 &YR07
I Cut around Melvin and put 3D foam on the rear and place him on the base card off centre. I     added some details to metal of the bike with a silver pen and some highlights with a white pen and used some stickles to make the headlight shine.
I used Amercian thickers to add the letter stickers to spell out a greeting and  mounted the greeting panel from Craftworks card onto black so it stands out, cut around and stick to your finished card with 3D Foam.

I  I hope you like my card and will join me back here on Wednesday when I have new cards to show you from The Paper Shelter.

The Beautiful Aerialist

Morning - There is a new challenge at The Paper Shelter and the theme is pearl and lace - What a great challenge theme! I have used an image called The Beautiful Aerialist

I loved colouring this image and it reminded me of the Greatest Showman that I have recently seen. I coloured the image with Copics and die cut the image. I attached lace all around the edges covered the back with black & white striped card from My Favourite things.
I hope you like this card - Im pleased with how this has turned out.
All for now, Have a nice day
