Sleepy Bear & Coffee Break

Morning  -  I forgot to post my last creation for The Paper Shelter so this week I'm sharing two cards made using there fab images. But something ironic that these two are together as really these two are complete opposites.... Coffee and Sleep!
Todays card uses Sleepy Bear  and the theme is Shades of Blue. I've been wanting to colour this one up for a while and had the perfect starry paper to go with.

The second card is using an image called Coffee break  and the theme was New Beginnings. I used this image as I have started studying again to get promoted. So this is me... tapping away on my computer and constantly drinking tea!!

I hope you like them and will join in our challenge this week,

Smashing time

Hello - So today's excuse for being late is the weather.. (Anyone collecting my excuses to play Bingo with??) What? I hear you all asking... "Its great sunshine!" And that is why... I had to go for my run early before it got too hot. But I'm here now to show you Pinata-Pedro & his Pinata

Aren't they just the best images for a birthday, although the sun would need to stay out for this to happen in my world. Can you imagine the mess and damage Pedro would do with that bat!!!?
Have a great Bank Holiday weekend.

Bundles of Joy

Morning -
This time next week is Mothers Day here in ol'Blighty so I though I would do a lovely traditional image of a Mum from Dr Digi! She really is a classy lady this one but I'm sure there are many out there who would find this image hilarious. And even funnier... It is called Bundles of joy! I think many Mums will relate to the situation even if they don't quite have this look going on!!

The image is called Bundles of Joy and I have used a My Favourite things die to cut around her. The image is colored with Copics and the base card is covered in paper from Lawn Fawn. I drew the wobbly lines around the edges with a fine line marker. The greeting is stamped and stuck above a die cut gold star with 3D foam.

I hope you like this card and it makes you chuckle as it did me!

Danger Dad - Kenny K stamps.

Hello -  Thought I would share this creation with you today. Its the current freebie from Kenny K and you can get your paws on it by entering the Challenge at Club Kenny K May Challenge on Facebook. The image is called Danger Dad.

I wanted to create a night sky and thought of the light signal used in Batman so I thought a round base card would be a good idea.
I covered the base with map patterned paper from DIY pad by American Crafts. I used a My Favourite things die-namics die to cut the skyline in Black and Gold and glued them together slightly of line to give a light glow.  I also used an sky / star die from MFT to cut out stars from blue card which I then die cut using Lawn Fawn Large stitched circle die. I used this die to cut the gold circle also and after gluing them together and attaching the sky line - I cut off the bottom.
I used gold sparkly letters from Hobbycraft to spell our SuperDad as I thought this could be a Fathers Day card. Finally I added gold pen details on the image for the belt and chevrons, along with a little glaze on his boots.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour the image -
Cool Greys 2, 3, 4 & 5
Suit - Celestial Blue, True Blue, Egyptian Blue & Indigo Blue.
Cape - Burgundy, Ruby, Poppy & Red.
Skin - Usual

Lots more to come from me in the next few days... mainly cos I'm trying to reduce the amount I eat so need to keep busy!!

Special card for a special goodbye.

Hello - time to share a commissioned card. I love that I can make such personalised cards - This was for a teacher who was leaving. I was able to find the perfect image from Some Odd Girl called Little Loves - the Tobie version.(It is available with a little girl also.)  I used a colour scheme to match the Nursery uniform colours and to colour the image to match the hair and add names. Where else can you get a card so specific unless you go to a crafter for handmade!?

The papers are all from Doodlebug - The multi-coloured stars are from Anchors Aweigh pad,  the notepad is from Hello Sunshine and the blue ziz-zag from Kraft in Colour has been used to cut stars with a nestibilities die. The letters spelling out Gaynor and the small star sprinkles are also Doodlebug.

I also added a strip of yellow ribbon and a button which I tied a twine bow around. I stamped the top part of the greeting using Harolds ABC stamps from Lawn Fawn and then added some big Chalkboard letters from Jenni Bowlin. I think it ties it all together really nicely.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour the image -
Skin  - Antique white, Blush, Soft Peach, Coral, Spice and Baby Pink cheeks
Her Hair - Warm Greys
Her Top - Mulberry & Plum Preserve
Her trousers - Demin Blue, Polar Blue &Pastel Blue.

His hair - Burnt Sienna, Firewood, Cocoa & Walnut
His Top - Egyptian Blue, Royal Blue & Indigo Blue
His trousers - Cool Grey 2, 3, 4 & 5

I hope you like this card and the special person its made for does too!

He certainly seems pretty pleased that its time to hit the sack.

I used a My Favourite things die cut background to cut the blue bazzill zigzagz and then trimmed to base card down a little to fit better. The gold star and speech bubble are from Simple stories and I added the Happy from My Minds Eye Necessities sticker collection. I added a few little red gems and red stars to tie all the colours together. I also used Gold pen on the candlestick as I remember we used to have an gold one just like it. Finally I add some Stardust stickles on the pompom of his hat.
