Cassies retirement

Morning - I was asked to make a retirement card for a Friend from work who was leaving after 30 years service. I got a bit nervous as this would go round our entire building and so also needed to be big!! I found some A4 blanks with glittery frames but that takes a big image to fill so I decided to use several images and none were more perfect than Stamping Bella to reflect all the things Cassie will be able to do in her free time now she no longer has to come to work.

I used Uptown Girls - Opal the optimist, Pippa loves to plant and Chelsea and Lauren love Sushi
but there were so many I could have used - it was a really hard choice!!
I'm sorry the picture is a little dark... damn  these winter nights! Natural light photography is so much better... bring on spring now please!

Anyway I'm glad I can now share this with you. Luckily she loved the card and all the gifts and we had a fabulous night out to celebrate.

Thanks for stopping by,

Stamping Bella Happy Birthday Wife

Hello -  I was asked to make this card for a collegues wife for her Birthday. This image from Stamping Bella just seemed perfect! She is called Opal the Optimist
I printed the image and then die cut the edge using a My Favourite things Scalloped stitched basic edge 2 collection.

The stripey and patterned paper I have used for the background is from My Minds Eye Market St Ashbury Heights collection. I used some ribbon from my stash and die cut a gold Happy Birthday sentiment using a Lawn fawn die and attached this over the ribbon. I also used a Craftwork Cards panel saying "for my wife" and layered this up with flags and attached under a pink resin flower.
Finally I added a couple of puffy Freckled Fawn hearts and some glaze to the bottle and glass.

To colour Opal I used these promarkers and flexmarkers -
Skin - Usual
Flowers - Poppy, Cerise and baby pink
Dress - Aquamarine, Oasis, Turquoise & Marine
Drink - Mango & Baby pink
Seamist over the bottle
Hair - Cinnamon, Raw Sienna & Henna

Thanks for stopping by to look at my Blog - I would love you to leave a note so I know you have visited!

Stamping Bella - thanks.

HI!
Thought I'd take this chance were I have no DT post to show you this card I made for Ben's Nan to thank her for a lovely gift. I have used a stamp from Stamping Bella called Tiny Townie Bonnie Loves Bows  - I love this image and used the spots as the theme for the card.

The Striped paper is from My Favourite things Just delightful Dots & Stripes Sorbet. To the bottom I added a panel of Spotty paper from My Minds Eye Black and Grey Necessities paper pad and I used another sheet to die cut the heart using a spellbinders nestibilities die. To mirror all the bows I tied a thin piece of ribbon around the edge of the heart.
I used a Lawn Fawn Big Scripty die to cut the word Thanks from pink satin card and added a few co-ordinating gems.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour the lovely Bonnie -
Skin - Antique white, Blush, Soft Peach, Coral, spice and Baby pink cheeks.
Heart -  Red, Poppy, Ruby & Cardinal red
Skirt & Bow - Pink mittens, Cerise, Magenta & Vermillion
Bow & Underskirt - Lemon, Canary, Summer Sun & Gold.

Stacey & Barrys Wedding.

I have been sorting through my photos and found this card that I forgot to show you. I made this for my Friend Stacey who had a beautiful wedding in Sandbanks, Poole which we had the pleasure of attending.
Stacey and I have been friends for years and her new hubby Barry is just lovely! Stacey loves pink so I was certain the wedding would have a pink theme and made them this card (There wasn't actually any pink to be seen  - it was a lovely cream and neutral colour scheme.)
The image is from Stamping Bella and is called Uptown Couple Brett & Brenda get married and it is my "go to " image for weddings.

To make this card I covered the base card in a paper I have had for ages from KI Memories Soul Mates. I stamped the image and then trimmed the panel down to cut around her leg and dress. I added some lovely lace to the side and tied some thin pink sparkly twine around the edge. I spelt out the names using gold letters I got from Hobbycraft and added some diamond stickles to her dress for extra sparkle. I used Doodlebug numbers to add the wedding date and used gems to add detail.

I used these promarkers and flexmarkers to colour the image -
Skin - Antique White, Blush, Soft Peach, Coral & Spice.
Dress - Pink Mittens, Baby Pink, Cocktail & Magenta
Hair - Vanilla, Buttercup, Pineapple crush & sleigh bells.
Bouquet - Pear green & Moss green
Suit - Warm greys
His Hair - Caramel, Raw Sienna, Chestnut & Warm grey.

I'm really pleased with how this turned out and it is just perfect for Stacey!
Thanks for stopping by and reading my post -

Lindy's 40th

I made this card for my Friend Lindy (Who guessed??!) who was 40 - Ok I will stop stating the obvious now!! I've used it for my DT card over at I LOVE PROMARKERS And this weeks theme is Anything Goes!

The Image is a rubber stamp from Stamping Bella called Uptown Girl Bentley. You can find her here. I love these Uptown Girl images and I think the images are enough and don't need loads of embellishments and bling to make a lovely card.

Card Recipe.
I hand cut the wave and just put a small gap between them - Behind which I stuck some Doodlebug glitter card stock in a colour called "Swimming Pool" which is a lovely turquoise colour.
The "Happy" and 40 were cut from Bubblegum Doodlebug glitter card stock using  Die-namics and the other letters are Doodlebug stickers.
I added glaze to the ballons and I sprinkled some Cosmic Shimmer over the top of the central balloon to make it stand out a bit. Finally I added a few Enamel dots in Co-ordianting colours from a selection of My Minds Eye dots.

The image is coloured with Promarkers / Flexmarkers -
Skin - Antique White, Blush, Soft Peach, Coral & Spice
Dress - Pale Citrus, Lime Zest, Lime & Pear.
Hair - Magenta, Hot Pink, Cerise, Cocktail Pink & Baby Pink
Balloons -  Marine, Turquoise, Oasis & Pastel Green / Azure, Sky, Arctic & Glacier Blue / Azure, True Blue, Egyptian Blue

Id like to enter this card into the following challenges -

Aprils Colour Mojo!

Mojo Yellow!
How do you feel about Yellow? I have to be honest its not a colour I turn to that much but this was fun to do. I did struggle a little bit as I like Bright (Ha! Who knew??!) and there aren't that many variations of bright but I have had a right good fiddle around and attached all the combos below.

For those who have been following the colour journal journey - This has been inspired by Some Odd Girl and Kristy - who uses Copics so its great to be able to convert the colours to Promarkers as there isn't as much guidance or colour combos out there for Pros as there are the Copics.

This image is a digi from Some Odd Girl and is called Duck In Boots. You can find him here

This image is a rubber stamp from Stamping Bell and is called Uptown Marcella. You can find her here.

And here are my colour combos of Yellow Promarkers -  Feel free to use them, link to them, share them etc but please leave a comment to say Hi or even better follow the blog as each month will be a different colour... Who knows what Kristy will choose next!

Thanks for reading and hope you Pros out there find them useful.

Sorry for the neglect!

Blimey - I didn't post at all in April! My excuse is that the House has been demanding my attention (ie the Boyf has been writing lists of jobs that need doing.) We have decorated all the bedrooms now and started on the dining room. But what I've been mostly busy with is my garden. Its took me ages to weed and plant everywhere. Its looking good now and all my veggies are doing well - We have spinach, peas, carrots, tomatoes, beetroot, lettuce, pak choi and so much more that I won't bore you with... but I may post a picture someday soon...(I know - spoil you readers!)

So - here are my only two creations from recent times.

I don't think this one is finished?? It needs a greeting but not sure what yet! I used my doodlebug glitter again over orange promarkers to give it the scaly sparkle. The Mermaid is a digital image from Some Odd Girl and I will enter it into the challenge as I am loving the orange and pink colour combo at the moment. The patterned papers are also Doodlebug.

This image is another from Stamping Bella - Uptown Girls range. I am loving these at the mo. I've paper pieced with paper from Crate Paper On Trend range and then used some strips of the same range down the side. I added some co-ordinating ribbon, doodlebug Sequins and resin flowers. I stamped the greeting from a set I have from Paper Smooches and added a few gems. The photo doesn't show it but I used Wink of Stella to accent the chair and also glossy accents on the wine bottle and glass.

Well - that's all for now. Promise not to leave it for so long next time! (:(|)x

Short and Simple (:(|)x

I have to be honest - there isn't much to write about this week! I've worked some long hours (22 hrs shift on Wed?!) and not done very much else. So this post will be short and simple - A display of the new cards that I've created to help me relax. I can seriously lose hours when I am sat at my desk colouring images.

This is the first showing of my first creation with my new stamp from Stamping Bella. It took me a bit of practice to get back into stamping as most of my images are digital now but I got it right after 4 attempts. It was fun to colour and add the obligatory glitter too!

I tried to keep the colours a little more muted than the brights I normally use. I got it from a lovely new shop called Crafty Mojo. (www.craftmojo.co.uk)
The image is from the Uptown Girls range and coloured with Promarkers. I used glitter on the dress and jacket along with some glossy accents on the wine bottle and glasses. The papers are from American Crafts - Dear Lizzy range called Lucky Charm and I used a Martha Stewart punch for the zigzag edge. A couple of gems and a coordinating ribbon and it was complete. I'm not really sure who or what its for at the moment so I'll add a greeting when I decide!

This card was a commission for Diane who was celebrating her 50th Birthday (Did you guess??) The paper is from Simple Stories Vintage bliss. I love stripey paper! The image is from Pink Petticoat. I used my Die-namics sky scene die cut and added some ribbon and a resin bird. Looking at it now I realise the Happy Birthday spots are not straight.... that would have really annoyed me if I'd noticed it earlier! I like things straight!!

This one is just wonky because of me cropping. I probably took the picture with loads of things in the background so had the crop it right in close. I'm sure you recognise a fab Some Odd Girl image by now! I kept this quite clean and simple and am pleased with how it turned out. The paper is from Crate Paper - The Maggie Holmes range which is really funky. I love the pink Brick paper! The sentiment is from Jillibean Soup.

Right that's all from me for now
